They came back and did what they could to fix it and they wanted to make it right. They were on time and they came when they said they're going to be. They had nice and clean job and I had no issues. They just did the job when I was away so I didn't see that person. As a matter of fact, I recommended them to a company here.

You get what you pay for. We found out the hard way. Nys Enterprises was much less expensive than other estimates, and less than a year later the seal coat was flaking off and moss was growing through it. I believe this to be for two reasons:
1) Pressure washing of the three driveways proved to be too much work and too time consuming, so did not thoroughly pressure wash and treat to remove the moss prior to seal coat (even though it was in the contract).
2) The seal coat material itself was poor quality. Thin and watery even when it was first applied. Did not last.
I would definitely not recommend Nys Enterprises for seal coating unless you plan to have them re-apply it every six months.

The entire job spanned two months. The owner, Steve Nys, was very professional and personable. Although his bid was the highest of all three, he had the breadth and depth in his work crew to do all phases of the work. On occasion, we might have had 12 - 14 workmen here at one time. His workmen listened well to our requests, they really did try to please, although things we had discussed did get forgotten and the work did take constant oversight. Some additional charges did get added on that we were not expecting, but on a job of this size, it was not major.
The most impressive feature of Nys Construction was the range of equipment he had at his disposal, as he does large jobs such as work on public roads and commercial shopping centers. His work met my expectations.

It did not go well. The crew did not show up on the day scheduled. After at least 2 phone calls we found out they wouldn't be coming and would come the next day. They did show up the next day, but they seemed disorganized and poorly supervised. They didn't get the prep work done at several locations. When the crew left they did not put up any kind or warning tapes or orange cones at any of the areas they had worked on. We actually had a resident fall and break her leg! They did show up again to finish the prep work and start concrete pouring. It took a couple days to pour and finish the concrete. We realize that this work can be very messy and it can leave a mess behind however this was much worse than when they had worked for us previously. The company did send men back after the fact to do a certain amount of cleanup and landscape repair but we are still not completely satisfied. They have promised to come back one more time to try and clean cement and slurry stains off asphalt. The only reason I gave them an overall "Fair" rating instead of bad is because we have worked with NYS before with better results and they are pretty good about following up if the customer isn't happy. I am going to say no about hiring them again, but given the reputations of many of their competitors we might end up hiring NYS again!

It was a disaster. The curb paint fell off in chunks, in more than one location a white exudate bled out from the curbs onto the asphalt, asphalt appears to be lifting off the driveway and cracking, moss now appears to be growing into the asphalt in multiple location.. It is an unsightly mess. NYS Enterprise refused to remedy their work.

"This project wasn’t generated from Angie’s List, so it was to our shock that we discovered this review on here. This project was generated from a great customer of more than 12 years. After receiving negative feedback, we approached the owner of Cole Property Management to gather more information. Originally, we had worked with Russ Cole in all matters related to the project; we had not had any contact with the board members orthe client. Russ Cole, the owner, apologized and said he had no knowledge of this review and that she has “gone rogue” and does not reside on the board, therefore has no position of authority to speak on its behalf. The nature of concrete is such that some bleeding can occur, which we explain to all customers prior to work. Some of the problems brought up, such as the moss growth, are unrelated to our scope of work and out of our control. Prior to this review, resolve was already in progress. We had met with Russ Cole on site to address the concrete bleeding and after we explained his options, Mr. Cole opted to discuss with the board about what they would like to do. At this time the board has not made a decision and we are still awaiting their reply, however, we are following it closely. NYS Enterprises has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and we stand behind everything we do."

NYS provided an estimate, had my address and was authorized to proceed with the work on October 26, 2011. I realize this was a very small project, but scheduling this work took way too long. I was originally told, "we are in area about every two weeks or so." This work was not completed until January, 2012 after numerous emails and phone calls.

"We have spoken with the member regarding his review. We have come to an understanding and he has agreed to remove this. Every once in a while someone is in need of a project that falls below our minimum and we will try to accommodate their needs if we will be in the area. Our minimum charge is $950, but we agreed to do it for $380 (which is below our cost) once we had another job that was really close to his location. Because of this, we had communicated that we couldn’t pinpoint an exact date and that it could be a while before we could make it out there. The communication around this was not clear and he expected normal service times at a deeply discounted price, when in reality it could have been as long as 6 months before we were close enough to his location to be able to help him out at this cost."

The finished product was oustanding and the work done cleanly and up to code. The two highlights from my perspective is that they handled all the permitting work and they were responsive and professional at all times. I'd reccommend and use them again in the future.

I am very pleased with the outcome of the job NYS Enterprises did putting in a new asphalt approach to my driveway. (Thrilled, actually!) James, the project manager, was terrific. He kept me informed each step of the way and consulted with me without hesitation when questions came up. The crew was professional, knowledgeable and knocked out the job in an afternoon. The scheduling and billing processes went smoothly and were handled well. I would definitely hire them again and can confidently recommend their work.

I initially had trouble contacting him but after that James kept me well informed as to arrival time for estimate. We put two coats of solution on the driveway prior to having it pressure washed, $425. James and his assistant put on one layer of sealer and the next day James put on a 2nd coat, $983. It looks great.

From beginning to end this was one of the most pleasant contractor experiences I have ever had. James Longacre, the Business Manager, was prompt and professional in his initial evaluation of the work project and submitted an estimate on the spot. His work crew, supervised by Frank, arrived on time and completed the project exactly as outlined by James and exactly on time. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Pavemaster did an excellent job --- James was very responsive --- he was out to view the job the next day and got back to me very quickly with a price quote via email, which was appreciated. I was not going to be in town when the job was scheduled which made me a bit nervous, but James and his crew did a beautiful job on the project --- which was a very long and twisting driveway and parking area with draining and runoff challenges to deal with. it looks terrific! Throughout the project, James displayed genuine integrity, honesty and committment to quality work that is very hard to find in contractors ---- and is exactly why I turned to Angie's List in the first place. There is no question that I will highly recommend Pavemasters to my friends and family, and if I'm ever in need of having this kind of work done again, I wouldn't even consider contacting anyone else.

They got back to me on the phone, came over and estimated it, all promptly. There was an issue I raised about the need for a more complicated fix which they also estimated but were perfectly content when I didn't go for that in the end. They gave me a general idea of when they would be coming - the week after I accepted the bid. They came on the Tuesday of that week, calling me the day before. They were on time, did the work they said they'd do, and did it well.

James returned my call and did an estimate. He was professional and on time. He knew that I wanted to get the job done sooner than later and called to say that he had a change and showed up, on time, for the date of service. He has a great crew working for him. They were the cleanest crew we have ever seen. They did a great job and we are very happy with what they did. We would recommend them and use them again, if needed.
