Moss Patrol provided a clear estimate, was punctual and responsive in all communications, and met the estimate exactly. When we had to reschedule the job once -- our decision, because of serious family matters that unexpectedly came up-- Moss Patrol was flexible and did not make an issue of it.
Overall, an easy experience and we are pleased with the results.
They use high pressure air for both blasting moss off the roof and for cleaning out the gutters. If the gutters have lots of mud in them, you can expect to see small mud splatters (like dirty rain) appear on the outside of the house. Also, during the cleaning, lots of moss and pine needles ended up on the ground around the house. They clean all this up as part of their service, using rakes and brooms for the dry debris and a garden hose for the dirty spatters. They get 99% of it, which I thought was all that could reasonably be expected.
Be sure to read the information they send you ahead of time so you know what to expect. They warn you, for example, that there will be some infiltration of pine needles and such near skylights, as it gets blown under the flashing during the cleaning process. This did indeed happen but it wasn't a problem. A minute with a vacuum cleaner was all it took to clean up. Next time they do this, though, I think I'll put a sheet over things underneath the skylight to make cleanup even easier.
I opted not to get the spray on the roof which is supposed to inhibit moss growth, which would have cost an additional $100.
The only problem I had was that--in spite of warning them ahead of time--they did leave some dirty spatters on the neighbor's house. But they came back out and cleaned that up for no additional charge, so everybody's happy again.
