We have used Judd and Black and recommended them to multiple friends. This last experience has been less than stellar! We bought a drier that was recommended by their sales person “I own this one it is the best one out there” Well the install was hideous! I have brand new carpet the tech was with a trainee (who stood around and talked never lifted a finger to help) and the trainer was dragging the washer and drier along by brand new carpet causing bubbling and then rammed the equipment into my kick bar on my front door causing my door to bend and it now has a gap at my front door that causes air to come inside!!! (Which we were told they couldn’t justify fixing because it would be an entire door repair ? They have since come to my house at least three times to repair said drier!! Which we are going on 6 months and we still don’t have a drier that works right! First it was installed wrong during my hideous install and it was causing moisture to build up in my laundry room! Then after that was fixed it started melting all our clothes and blankets! I called them out to repair this (took a week for him to come out and few more weeks after parts were ordered) he finally fixed the entire drier and I decide to do my first load of laundry…. Also we had our drier vents cleaned because they thought that might be what was causing the melting $150 later Well guess what my blanket and $75 bedding is now in the garbage because it melted again!! So we call repair and I explain this drier is a fire hazard and I want a new one. Two days later (this has to be escalated to sales because repair only repairs) I am told we have to order it! So it will be at least a week before they can then schedule a delivery!!! So going on 6 months we still don’t have a resolution and we are now waiting with about $1000 of ruined clothing and other expenses! Prior to this experience I would have given them a 5/5 but sadly this experience is lucky to receive a 2/5

They have been to my house to repair the fridge 8-10 times. they took it to their shop for 3 weeks once. They have replaced the compressor once or twice. They replaced all the electronics recently. Just replaced another sensor yesterday. Guess what? It's 25 degrees in the fridge now. The extra warranty we bought from amynta Group is a joke. How many times do you have to have something fixed before it's judged to be a lemon? Is it 15 or 20? Be patient, it's only a matter of time.

I would definitely use them again. We did not have to wait long for an appointment, they were prompt, professional, friendly, and got in and out in a short time. Price was very reasonable.

Both my dishwasher and side by side were having problems. Judd & Black service technician came out, quickly diagnosed the problems, gave me multiple options as well as things to consider should I choose to purchase new and did a great job leaving the place neat upon completion.  Also very reasonable pricing.

They're very good. The sales person, John, at this location has been very good as well. We have had a number of issues with this refrigerator. They have been a out a number of times to service it. They are now trying to work with the manufacturer to get us a replacement.

I bought a Washer / Dryer from these folks 1 1/2 years ago. I also, in good faith, bought a 5 year maintenance policy from them, being told 24 / 48 HOUR turn around, except weekends / holidays.

So my dryer dies. I called in and was told: We are 1 week behind right now due to the warm weather and stuff breaking down. You will see a service man next MONDAY.

 So the "Next Monday" comes and instead of seeing a repair man, I get a phone call asking the me the stupidest question ever!
"Do you still need your dryer fixed?" . o O ( duh! ) Yes, I was a "tad upset". Then he went on to ask me, "Do you want me to order the parts?" . o O ( No, I want my dryer dead downstairs to remind me NEVER TO BUY FROM YOU FOLKS AGAIN!! ) Verbal answer: "Yes, seriously?"

I'm dealing with Amateurs here folks. 100% amateurs.

 So another week goes by and I hear nothing and so finally call back going, "Where are you?"
Only to find out, that basically, from what was said and NOT said, "That the ball was dropped." I told the Supervisor that I am dealing with Amateurs here. He agreed and felt the same way. I stated the history of what happened and went, "What is going on?" I thought last Monday, I was suppose to have  tech at my home! He told me I was suppose to. ( Oops. ) There was other painful dialog that I stated SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED AND HE AGREED. 1 being: At least a tech should have come, spent 15 / 20 minutes to see exactly what part(s) were needed to at least insure the right part(s) are being indeed ordered. He again, agreed that is what should have happened but it did NOT happen.

So then he told me, "I will have a tech out there on Saturday."

 So then I asked, "What if the tech has the wrong part? I'm still down and out going on yet another week!!" He said, "Yes that could be the case." ME: "Then would it not be a good idea to have a tech come and just check before Saturday?"
NO THEY COULD NOT AFFORD IT. THEY WERE SCHEDULED OUT. So they could not afford a tech to take 15 - 20 minutes to verify the parts needed before Saturday? The answer was: NO. Seems they can afford to pay a tech on Saturday, but they cannot afford to spend 15 - 20 minutes to insure that the right parts are there. ** BLINKS **

 The 24 / 48 hour turn around is more like 24 - 48 DAYS Turn Around. (21 days from the time of this post.)

 Again, will I buy from them - NOPE. I don't need Keystone Cop Amateur Hour from a service department.

I am only hoping that they have the right part(s) tomorrow, or I am going to call another repair service - pay it and send the bill to JUDD & BLACK.

UPDATE: 9/7/2014.

Okay, I wrote this review and Angie List was doing what they should do - VERIFY. I appreciate that totally.

Funny (??) thing, I wrote this in the semi-early AM of Friday 9-5-2014. I got a call from Sean, in the afternoon, telling me, "We have a tech that is available and we can have them there in 1/2 hour +/-. They did indeed show up. They indeed did have the right part and they indeed fixed the dryer in less then 1/2 hour of time.

I was told by the manufacturer to contact Judd and Black. They ordered a replacement unit, made an appointment with me and came to my house to replace it. The service technician was very nice, and even notice a potential issue with our dishwasher drain tube while he was under the sink. If he had the proper part he would have fixed it for me. I was impressed that he would tell me about the issue, how to fix it and offer to do it if he could!  Very happy!

They are very good. They gave ordered the part, and then they called me to tell me that the part had arrived, and it was very expensive, so I told them that I would rather buy a new one, and then the leak stopped. We don't know what happened.

We had to replace our under cabinet range hood. During the process we discovered the builder had not aligned the vent, resulting in poor performance of our old hood. The job involved cutting a hole in the exterior wall and installing a new vent. The challenge was the location was three stories up on the side of a hill. The installer was able to do the cut from the inside and reach around through a window to finish the work. The job was done on time, no mess, no fuss.

The technician came, and diagnosed that the machine needed a new master control board, and gave me a quote. I asked if this would definitely get it going, and reiterated that I did not want to pay as much or even close to what a new dryer would cost.
After he checked out a bunch of circuits, and tried to get it to repeat the things I described, he showed me that the control board was fried, clearly not working any more. He came back when the part arrived, installed it, and showed me that once he installed the control board, his instruments showed that more parts had been damaged, and that he could not have known that until the master board was working.
I was ready to believe that, because of the way the dryer had been acting after the first guy in PA serviced it. In fact, I think the board was fried because of the way the PA service guy had left it.
Judd and Black needed to order those additional parts, as well, but the tech left the dryer in a jury-rigged condition where I could dry some loads I had already washed.
Before he came back the third time, I called him to let him know that the dryer had stopped heating altogether. In fact, I only got two loads out of it before it died. He cleared some space that day, and came almost right away, with the additional parts, which had just arrived when I called. I know this to be true, because the J&B scheduler called me after the tech finally left, to say that the parts had arrived that afternoon.
In the end, the heating coil had to be replaced, as well, but because of all the to and fro he gave me two of the parts at cost. The total went MUCH higher than I wanted to pay for a repair. I am really unhappy about that, but I watched the tech work, and asked a lot of questions. I do not feel I was cheated deliberately.
I'm just sorry that appliances these days are so complex, that the solid state circuitry makes it difficult easily to diagnose and service various things which wear out. The tech was friendly, courteous, and very apologetic about the additional charges. He left the laundry area completely cleaned up, and in order.

Their prices were way too high so we just bought a new machine. They were pricey. It cost almost $200 for them to just come to our house. The workman wasn't very sociable and he didn't really look like he knew what he was doing. He wasn't really sure about the problem. They were pretty responsive.
