Travis can be a little hard to get ahold of - the issue is simply that he's a small business and very busy. I chose to contact via email primarily and he was quick to describe what to expect in terms of his responsiveness. Understanding that, and not really being in a particular hurry, I was OK with it. Once he started the job he stuck with it until it was finished, coming in over the weekend actually to wrap it up. I'm very happy with the results and would absolutely hire Travis again for this type of work.
Description of Work: The beam above our barn doors had essentially rotted out. I had planned to do a simple repair myself but once I got the facing off decided it was way above my pay grade, and decided to get professional help. Travis replaced the rotted out support beam and portions of siding, putting it all back together in probably better condition than it was originally designed as. In addition he came up with a solution to prevent the accumulation of water that lead to the problem in the first place.

Travis is the first person we'll call for any home repair or remodel. Recently we had a situation that required repair - quotes we got from other contractors were ridiculous and would have had us doing much more work and tear-out than was actually required. Travis gave us a realistic opinion on the work that was required and helped us get started quickly on the repair - he showed up on a Friday night to look at the damage and help us out so we didn't have to wait until Monday morning.
Description of Work: Last year, Travis oversaw a complete remodel of our downstairs, including bathroom and laundry room. Throughout the project he was responsive and professional. When we had concerns about a couple of his subs, he followed through and talked to them, even giving us a price break at the end of the project on one aspect of the bathroom remodel. We are very pleased with the outcome.

Travis showed up for his estimate on the job on time. He walked the area's asked questions and had an estimate to us within a few days. The two employees that did the work were very professional. They worked cleanly, never leaving a mess and knew what they were doing. They even vacuumed up all the sawdust created from the work, even in the grass. The only thing that didn't happen that was part of the estimate was to have the porch light turn on to a motion detector. We mentioned it to Travis and he personally came out within a couple of days and installed the motion detector.
Description of Work: We had some windows that were not installed properly, by another company, and needed to be shored up and finished off. Plus the soffit for the front porch needed replacing because of a leak, along with the trim along the gutter. Change out the front porch light to make it recessed so we can install a screen door.

Travis took the project seriously and made sure we are happy with his work. He has a very efficient crew and he tried really hard to accommodate our changing plans and schedules. This really helped a lot. After taking an initial look, Travis made a very clear budget sheet. It itemized his plan and cost in detail. This convinced us to go with him. We were planning to take care of the interior walls by ourselves, but realized the walls are not in very good condition and it would take too much time to skim-coat them ourselves. After talking with Travis, he was able to get the job done over the weekend in very short notice. The price is reasonable and we are very happy with the walls. Due to our moving schedules, Travis even paid the extra to have our closet doors installed during the weekend, too. We are very happy working with him.
Description of Work: Added beams in crawl space, made new closets and skim-coated interior walls

I called and left a message, my phone call was returned the following day. When he called back the following day he asked about the project and asked what the address was and told me he would get back to me. Three days later he called me back and told me that he was unable to do my job because I was out of his area. Keep in mind when we spoke the first time I gave him my address so he knew from the very first time we spoke what my area was. I found this to be very unprofessional. It made me feel as though my job was much too small for him to be troubled with.

Workers stopped by the day before to review the job. They taped plastic over all the flooring. No time was wasted. I should have allowed myself more time to remove everything from the bonus room, because I had to reschedule the work three working days out. It took a lot more time than I realized to clean out a desk and repack some items I had stored in a closet.
Description of Work: We needed the walls and ceilings taped and texturized in our bonus room of around 500 sq. ft. The finished work was excellent, with the texturizing looking better than what we have in our other rooms. The workers were fast and efficient, and completed the work in 1-1/2 days instead of 3 or 4. A different contractor gave us an estimate that would have cost us $600 more, so we believe we saved that much by having Frameco do it.

This was the first big project we had pursued since buying a new home, and we had an incredibly difficult time finding a contractor to finish our room. We talked to 10-15 different contractors, they either blew us off, or gave us bids that were ridiculous for the size of the job that we had. After an initial walkthrough, Travis came back to us quickly with a quote that was reasonable, and a timeframe that worked great for us. Travis was enthusiastic about working with us, very friendly, and took the time to make sure he really understood what we were looking for. He did a great job of communicating what was going on in the process, which was really valuable for us, as this was our first time dealing with a contractor. I always felt like I could call or email with any questions and get an honest answer. All his staff was super professional, and I feel like they did a great job of respecting our time and our house. They also did a great job of communicating what was going on, and making sure we know where things stood at the end of a workday. The room turned out great, it was done quickly, and Travis actually managed to come in UNDER budget! We went from having such a negative experience trying to find a contractor to having a great one after finding Travis, I can't recommend him enough. If we have anything else that needs to get done, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Overall Travis made this very easy. We had complete confidence in him from the start and that never waivered. He was SO efficient at getting started we had to scramble a bit to clear the area as we expected a longer wait for start-up. He kept the work area clean and explained what he was doing and why at each step. Another contractor said our old siding could not be matched. Travis found siding so close you would need to measure any discrepancy. We were more concerned about getting payment to him than he was but making sure good work is compensated is a sticking point for us. His estimate did not include tax and it would have been a good piece of information up front when negotiating with the insurance company. We did not have a written contract beyond the estimate. I was a bit nervous about that after reading an Angie's List article but he stood behind any implied work that his costs could have covered. I will not let future projects out to bid. I will simply call Travis.I would be foolish to do anything else.
Description of Work: Call Travis at Frameco and do yourself a favor. A shed on our property was destroyed in an accident and needed to be rebuilt. Travis called us within a day of our contacting him via Angie's List. He was on site making an estimate within a couple days. His estimate was within dollars of a report from an appraisor because insurance was involved. We were impressed by his professionalism and straightforward manner. His bid was detailed and clear. He discussed the appraisal and the materials which the appraisor specified. He gave a reasonable start time, then moved that up when he had a schedule opening. He used sub-contractors who all appeared to be reliable and professional. There were a few small things we asked him to tend to that we were not completely satisfied with the first time. He was on those issues personally and immmediately. Independently, he inspected the work of the painter, decided that the first effort of the painter did not meet his standards and over-saw the re-paint. He would not accept his payment till we did a walk through even though we were satisfied and ready to pay him. We asked him to evaluate another situation at our home and he gave us a detailed assessment of what he believed the problem to be and told us what he would do to correct the problem

Have a few active/planned house projects and needed some framing work done before house siding can be updated. Called Travis after some work colleagues recommended Travis/Frameco and reading reviews on AngiesList. Travis is responsive to calls/emails, professional, flexible, helpful and friendly. Travis came by to look over and estimate time/material required to do the job, his estimates were great and spot on, there were no suprises and the work done was great. Brad/Ryan were the folks that came round to do the work, they're both fast and great to work with, Brad has a bunch of experience that I really appreciated/benefited-from. I'm fairly hands-on (interferring?) and like to learn/help out with these types of projects, learnt a bunch and look forward to working with Travis and his team in the near future.
Description of Work: Initially only planned to have Frameco replace couple of rotten beams (4"x10"x10' and 4"x8"x3') supporting roof rafters, but after working with them for a bit, liked how things were going and ended up asking them to do some additional work and help frame and install a window (5'x3') under one of the beams and frame a ceiling that we're lowering (~300 sqft), they installed a ledger (26'), 22 rafters (2"x6" 12') and boxed couple of skylights. Appreciated them be careful to not disturb a tiled wall close to one of the beams being replaced.

What we thought was a simple door swap turned out to be a much more involved project. We hired Travis to switch out an old door with a new slider unit that we bought from a big box store. The door did not fit as expected (totally not Travis's fault!) so Travis came up with a solution and a plan. While we went to a lumber store to buy trim boards, Travis left and returned with his full suite of construction tools to rectify the rapidly snowballing project. His comment to all of this was that if he got upset everytime something went sideways, he was in the wrong line of work. His sense of humor kept us sane and the project on track. A couple of hours later, Travis had the new door installed and beautifully trimmed out. What we thought was a door that we were afraid would not fit, was made to work perfectly. I would not hesitate to call or refer Travis for ANY home project. In fact, we are considering a bathroom remodel and he will be our first phone call. His honesty and intelligence are evident and he truly cares about "doing it right", not just doing it.
Description of Work: Replaced old damaged french door unit with new patio slider door that we supplied. Added missing sill plate flashing and new trim around the exterior of the door. Installed maple millwork around interior of door. Hauled away old door and old trim.

Although Travis was not able to come complete my mom's unfinished kitchen, I was genuinely impressed with his thoughtfulness, and the way he had of making me feel comfortable when I was feeling so overwhelmed and unknowledgeable. Even though his company, Frameco Construction, could not physically come over and take the job, Travis spent valuable time to make phone calls and emails on my behalf, not stopping until he had someone he trusted to handle the situation and relieve me of hardship. The integrity and work ethic he displayed, even though he received no money at all for it, was something I rarely see in businesses today, and a value that I highly admire.
Description of Work: My mother's kitchen was halfway through repairs/demo due to a slow leak under the sink. The leak had caused the kitchen to deteriorate to the point that the floor literally caved in because the water damage was so extensive. The person who came to our aid did not complete the work, and after a little over a month I could not wait on him any longer. He had fixed the original problem, closed up and sheet rocked the wall, twinned up the joists that were affected under the floor, and nailed down plywood to the floor. The sink was still in the garage, the oven was pushed across the room out of place, the refrigerator was almost in the middle of the kitchen, the dishwasher was taken to the dump as was half of the cabinets. It was a complete mess, and not something anyone deserves to go through. I had never had to hire someone to do a job of this scale. I had no one to help me or give me any suggestions on a reputable, honest, good contractor to call. It was then that I obtained a membership to Angie's List and began reading reviews. After reading several reviews of different contractors, I decided to call Frameco Construction. Right away, I was speaking directly with Travis. He listened to my dilemma, and was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Talking with Travis was almost like talking to a friend you'd known for years. He has a very pleasant personality, and was genuinely sympathetic to what I was dealing with. Travis was booked solid with other jobs, and wouldn't be able to get to work at my mom's for about a month. He completely understood the urgency of the situation, though, and he didn't leave me hanging. He made phone calls for me as soon as he got back to his office, and emailed me right away to let me know that he contacted a contractor for me, and could expect to hear from him the very next day.

Our initial contractor had a family emergency (for a small remodel job), so we called Travis at Frameco to get him on board just in case our initial contractor fell through. Travis arranged to come over the day after we called him and said he could have the job completed by the end of the following week. His professionalism and knowledge were impressive! Our initial contractor ended up being able to complete the job...but we will definitely use Travis/ Frameco in the future!

We had Travis come to our home to give us an estimate on how much it would cost to extend the kitchen and dining room. He spent some time examining the structure and then he gave us a ball park estimate which turned out to be much more than we thought the project was worth so we decided not to do it. It was a pleasure dealing with Travis and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a contractor.
Description of Work: Travis gave us an estimate for some remodeling work. He was punctual, courteous and very knowledgeble. The work we wanted to do turned out to be much more expensive than we anticipated. He also gave us some ideas on how we could do it for less money but that still turned out to be more than we wanted to spend. He was a fountain of knowledge and he never pressured us.
Our first meeting with Travis inspired great confidence, and that confidence proved justified throughout the work. He listened carefully to our plans and wishes, and fitted us into his packed schedule in November and December, a nightmarish time to deal with suppliers. He quickly responded to any communication and addressed every concern. The quality of the work was always top-notch. He did his level best to reconcile our champagne tastes and beer-bottle pocket by finding affordable ways to accomplish what we wanted. Travis brings a calm and pragmatic approach to any unforeseen difficulty. He and his crew work fast, so know exactly what you want and be ready for them! His crew and subcontractors (electrical, millwork, drywall, flooring, gutters) are professional and courteous. Travis gave excellent advice on how to approach each aspect of the remodel, but he didn't push his ideas if we really wanted something different (for example, we insisted on finger-joint pine for the moldings and OSMO Polyx-Oil to finish the fir floor). He remained unruffled by delays in materials and hardware we supplied and by our dithering on decisions. All costs that exceeded the original estimate were due to our decisions and to the surprises that await the purchaser of a rather ineptly owner-built home.
Description of Work: We hired Travis for remodel and upgrades to our recently purchased 900 sq. ft. 1920 house before moving in: -Frame and finish new closet and alcove in office/bedroom, taking space from adjoining room -Reframe one interior wall for a pocket door and transom window -New drywall and ceilings in 3 rooms; new insulation -Install new fir floors in 3 rooms -New moldings in 3 rooms - doors, windows, entryway -Replace back door, bathroom exhaust fan, laundry room window -Upgrade all electrical to code -Replace gutters on outbuildings -Install handrails at entry

I guess I told you all the details above. But want you to know Travis is a very special person. Does excellent work. Works quickly & efficiently. Does big jobs, small jobs such as ours and everything in between. Always with a big smile. I definitely recommend him for all your awards.
Description of Work: This was service above & beyond anything you would expect. I called Travis ( I had used him in the past to replace molding & trim in our entire house) when I needed help in a hurry to see if he could help us take down a large 3 door medicine cabinet after one of the doors had fallen out twice & therefore very dangerous. He rushed right over, took it down for us. Discussed what we should buy to replace it. Because we were having painters coming in in a couple of days he suggested we leave it down until they were done & he would come back to put it up. When the painters were done I e-mailed Travis. He got back to me right away. Because my husband had a medical issue we had to wait thru last week. Today he was in the area & stopped buy to see if it was convenient for us if he took care of it now. He even apologized for not calling first (he didn't have our contact # with him). AND to top it all off, he would not take payment for it. Two trips out here and his time. WOW!!

Travis and his helper worked very well together. Got the job done in jig time. Even though he cut his finger and had to go to the hospital for stitches. They came back the next day finished up nicely. Would certainly call on him again, and did. Over the weekend we had a mirror fall out of our three door medicine cabinet and break, I e mailed Travis Sunday night & he e mailed me back 1st thing Monday morning. Offered to rearrange his schedule to come by that day and see what he could do. Took the old cabinet down & suggested the painters probably would appreciate leaving it down as it was tight painting around it. He will come back when they are done to put up our new one. Now that's service above & beyond. He does aim to please.
Description of Work: Demo and dispose existing door casings. Reinstalled new door casing with mitered corners. Put new base molding throughout our home. Also new 1/4 round molding in kitchen. Very nice job.
