I would definitely recommend them to anyone. they responded quickly and the technicians were very friendly, professional and clean. I actually enjoyed having them in our home.

They were great. There was just one guy who came out, he was great to get along with and did not leave a mess at all.

I called Eylander Electric to come out to my house toward the end of October to fix my furnace. An Eylander employee named Steve took the call and found the issue to be with the Honeywell L8148E1265 aqua-stat for the furnace. At the time I did not know anything about this part, but I did ask how much a replacement aqua-stat would be, Steve was unable to give me an estimate as they didn’t have a replacement part on hand. I asked if it would be around $100 - $200 and Steve indicated the part would be something like that but couldn't confirm. Steve then went and ordered the part without first notifying me of the cost or asking for my consent to pay $378.85 over retail for the aqua-stat. 25 days later, on 11/14, having never called me back despite me calling Eylander's reception for a status update several times, Steve returned to replace the aqua-stat. I was at work while Steve replaced the part, when he was done he left no invoice and took the old part without my consent. I called and left him a message to let me know the cost. He said he paid $543 for the aqua-stat, I looked up the part number from the back of the new aqua-stat Steve installed and informed him that $543 was nowhere near retail value. I offered to pay the highest retail value of $196.07 + tax, the response from Steve was to laugh, I said I would not pay $543 for the part and would dispute the bill and he hung up on me. tldr; charged way too much for a replacement part, never notified me of the cost, took the old part without my consent and was rude when I confronted him about charging too much. I would like them to charge a reasonable retail value for the Honeywell L8148E1265. Subtract $378.85 from the $822.28 bill, which is the difference of $543+tax - 196.06+tax. The labor costs, which make up the rest of the bill, are fine. Home Depot sells the aqua-stat for $177.95 + tax (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Aqua-stat-Relay-L8148E1265/203193175?keyword=L8148E1265). Honeywell sells the aqua-stat via Amazon.com for $196.07 ($177.95 on sale, https://www.amazon.com/Honeywell-L8148E1265-Immersion-type-Controller/dp/B0009726K6/ref=sr_1_1/152-2408678-0175351?ie=UTF8&qid=1479757418&sr=8-1&keywords=Honeywell+L8148E1265). Eylander Electric charges $543 + tax (their website states "Eylander Electric has the best selection of hard to find electric parts and all are sold at retail to the general public.")

Review of Eylander Electric
The service for which Eylander was hired was a very simple one for a home ? patch up a nicked wire, and install a new outlet on our front porch.
After two visits by their electrician and five visits by the rather rude supervisor, and a visit to their business to talk with the owner... the new outlet still does not work. The supervisor is also refusing to come back out to our house to complete the job. They charged $600 for this disservice, $100 of which the supervisor dodged answering for in the invoice ? overcharge!!
Personalities of the supervisor and owner are disgraceful. In our experience, Jim Eylander (the owner) and John Eylander (his son, the supervisor) are clearly 'classic' males ? thinking that women can have no brains, and that customers do not know anything about being an electrician. Jim talks down to customers and does not listen to customers (not because he can't with his age, but because he won't... he ignores what you say and interrupts to continue his own talking.)
After their electrician installed the outlet and left, we nudged it (it looked a little crooked) and IT SPARKED AND SMOKED!! Clearly something wrong, and not safe! Immediately called the supervisor and had him send the electrician back. Supposedly, fixing that part of the problem.
When we tried actually using the outlet the next day, it was 'dead'. Another visit by the (now angry) supervisor), with no resolution from it. The only outcome was the supervisor saying very angrily that our house was the problem and not his worker's job.
My wife pointed out where the problem may come from (short answer ? they tapped into the wrong wire ? the middle of a three-way circuit), but John the supervisor completely ignored her. He does NOT like being told his work is wrong. Same results from talking to Jim the owner. ?You're not an electrician! You don't know what you're talking about!? and interrupting us, the customers, constantly. Half hour conversation with him got absolutely nowhere. (Note: We have installed a dozen programmable thermostats in the house, replaced countless outlets and switches, rewired antique light fixtures, moved high voltage heaters...all by ourselves. We know some things about moving electrons around!)
I could go on for 15 more pages (that's how much I wrote for my own records)! But, too many details to be interesting for a review.
So, bottom line -
$600 for a non-working outlet, and being talked down to almost every step of the way. Zero customer service, 100% customer DISservice.
Responsiveness and Punctuality are entered as "C - Fair" above, because it WAS great ...until we tried telling them they screwed up. Now, the responsiveness is horrible.

When a phone call was made to this company, the person who answered was rude and argumentative. Should I ever need service from an electrical repair company, I assure you, I will go out of my way to avoid Eyelander Electric.

The service always go well. We have used them for close to 10 years. We have the same person come and it is really easy to schedule.
