Darryl did a great job - the roof is moss-free and looks great!

Service was great! Darryl sent an email estimate of the job prior to the day of service that outlined all work that would be completed. This is the second time I've used Darryl Moss Roof Care and am once again very pleased with his attention to detail. I have a 2 story with 3 separate roof elevations. He also washed off the house siding and it was really dusty. The water was a continual brown color flowing off the house. It's back to looking the originally siding color now. I would continue to recommend Darryl Moss Roof Care.

I would highly recommend him. He did a good job, and even did more detail work than I would have expected. He pressure washed the moss from the roof and sprayed it with a moss treatment, cleaned the gutters, and pressure washed the siding. He does all the work himself, and is very quick and thorough. I will be using him again next year, and recommending him to others.

I can't say enough good things about Darryl Moss. For starters. he's not afraid to get up on a metal roof. Most of the companies I called before I found Darryl told me their guys don't want to get up on metal roofs Darryl had absolutely no problem with it.
The whole project went extremely well. Darryl responded right away to my request for a bid and, after I gave him our address, emailed back within a couple hours with a quote. On the day of the job, he arrived promptly and worked non-stop with his assistant for over 6 hours. They did an excellent, careful job and left no mess behind! I was so happy I sent him an email afterwards thanking him again.
Darryl is honest, hard-working, extremely reliable, and takes a lot of pride in his business. He's also a very nice person. I thank the day I found him and you will, too! We plan to have Darryl back for future projects.

I purchased a coupon for there services and they were able to schedule and come out right away. I was not able to be there during their work but when I arrived home the gutters and the roof were cleaned and, best of all, they cleaned up all around the house including fall leaf debris that I had not had a chance to clean up yet.

They were prompt with returning my call, on time to the appointment, and quick in providing service. They also performed a quick visual inspection of my roof and informed me that moss was growing and should be attended to. They provided pricing for that service, but did not pressure me.
The gutters were cleaned competently. The only thing that could have been better is leaving the service area cleaner. There was oversplash onto my deck and under some of the eaves from the pressure wash in the gutters. They did not rinse the grime away from that oversplash at the end of the job. It left a mess after that job that wasn't there before.

They did a really good job. They cleaned up everything when they were through. They seemed know what they are doing. They are personable. When I saw another job here for them to do driveway, I said I would use them again.

Update - I also bought a driveway/concrete voucher for $100. I messed up and wasn't home when Darryl came. He was very graceful and came the next time he was near. Did a EXCELLENT job on driveway, entry, sidewalks, Reccomend him highly.
Saw some reviews that inferred he was "surly". Couldn't be further from the truth in my experience.

The deal was for $299, but when they arrived the first time without calling to give us notice, they left a note stating that it would cost another $20 for tax. We called and set a date for cleaning and left an envelope with $20 in it. When we got home that day, there was another note that it would cost $80 more because the square footage was larger than the ad stated (we have a 2000 sq ft 2-story home). Why didn't they tell us this the first time they came out? We decided that we really needed the work done and Angie's List had an "A" rating, so we set up another date. We had wanted this done before the work started on our new hardwood floors, but because of poor communication on the part of Daryl Moss Roofing it had to be done after the floor installation began.
Here is what we found when we came home the day the roof was cleaned:
1) The roofer was leaving just as I pulled in my driveway. I stepped through my front door and there was water all over my new hardwood flooring. The installers ran around quickly trying to get it cleaned up. They had already moved to another part of the house and didn't see the water before. Fortunately no permanent damage was done.
2) The roofer had power washed (I assumed) the front driveway and porch to remove the moss. In the process, he blasted our front door, causing not only the water forced under the door, but removing paint from the door and frame and columns on the porch. My small planters and statuary were blasted off the porch and buried in the dirt/moss under our front window garden area. My statuary was broken. My plants in the planters were destroyed. There was mud and debris splashed up the rockery under my window and on my window.
3) The gutter over the window was bent and damaged. (My husband is still upset every time we drive in and he sees the gutter!)
4) The roof and gutters were cleaned.

This is the 2nd time we have used Darryl, and he has been great both times. Extremely responsive, affordable, prompt, and does what he says he is going to do - on time. We had such a great experience with him last year that we went back again this year for our pre-fall gutter and roof cleaning. Highly recommend!

I saw moss on my roof. Since I'd had Daryl Moss out a couple of years ago for gutter cleaning and a moss treatment. I called him again. He was there the next day, listened to all my concerns, went up on the roof and came down to offer a recommendation. Livng in an area with lots of trees I was not surprised that he recommended roof cleaning. Also, he found that gutter edge had not been installed and provided an estimate. He made an appointment for the next week to do the work. He was very courteous and thorough in moving stuff from around the house and putting it back when completed. I'd asked him to check out a solar fan on the roof, which he did and had to deal with wasps in the bargain. My fan was working. The roof looks great, everything was neat and tiddy when he was done. I also received a discount for being an Angie's list member (I didn't know he was the on the list), Nice bonus!

The vendor Darryl Moss Roof Care says “I’ll sue your a**” in reference to my intention to put an honest evaluation of his work in Angie’s list. He can certainly do that. Anyone can sue anyone for anything. What the “sue you” people don’t realize is that unless you prove the person lied, then you are not only stuck with your court costs and attorney fees, but you’re stuck with the defendants court costs and attorney fees. Not only that, but the court case is now a record which follows you everywhere. See the Better Business bureau and Angie’s list. So go ahead. This will be strictly honest.


Before the visit Darryl asked me to put the payment in an envelope on the front door and this is what I said:

Email excerpt March 11 2013:
I'll leave a check in an envelope on my BACK door's sliding glass door. I'd rather not put it in the front door as my dogs have access via a doggy door to the front door. The work will be done around the back in any case as the access there is just one story and not two stories like the front of the house.
Clear enough? Well my front yard and door is surrounded by a chain link fence. The gate is 33 inches wide and a sign saying “Beware of Dog” takes up 14 inches of that gate. It’s a big sign with HUGE font located at the top of the gate.
I come home and the gate is wide open; not ajar; completely open. My dog is gone. He’s a dumb dog so I assume he’s dead; run over in the street. That’s why I was so careful to communicate the fact I had a dog in the email.
I call Darryl Moss. He said he didn’t leave it open. I get up each morning and take the dog outside and that morning I noted (as always) the gate was firmly shut. I leave via the garage and don’t touch the gate.
He says maybe the wind knocked it open. Ok – maybe. Quite a coincidence though as in the 15+ years I’ve been here, I’ve never had the gate knocked open via the wind. The catch is a sturdy catch which takes a bit of effort sometimes just to open it. Also, I’ve had dogs for 15 years and I’ve had no dogs get out via the gate because of wind or any other force of nature.

I was lucky as my neighbor found my dog in the road so he’s the only thing that prevented a dead dog.

They did and did a great job and worked very hard.

It went well. I would hire him again.

I was very satisfied, Darryl was courteous and efficient. The house trim and the gutters had been grimy and now the -finish looks like new. He is now doing business as "Darryl Moss Roof Care" and his contact number is 425-741-2000 or 425-770-3001 (cell).

I hired him when he was licensed and bonded as Moss Roofing in late august 2009. He performed the work in mid September and was paid on completion. Several months later I received a bill and intent to lien for $1800 in materials. He had cancelled his bond and license on September 1st (2 weeks before performing my work) and opened up under the name 3D Roofing. Stay away from this crook!
