He diagnosed it on Saturday, got the parts Monday morning and fixed the furnace immediately. He was always on time, really professional, certainly knew his stuff, and was very helpful. It was a good experience. He told me on the phone that he had been "doing this since he was 8 years old, when he started by holding the flashlight while his dad used to fix furnaces" and I believe him.

Their service was wonderful. We went out of heat at the middle of an ice storm on a Saturday morning. I called this guy, and he came the same afternoon. We did not get our furnace until Monday morning but I think that was pretty fast in those circumstances. I certainly would use them again in the future.

Furnace had stopped running. Bothell Heating came out promptly, installed a new thermostat. It ran for a few hours, then quit again. We called again, the same repairman came out, again promptly, and declared that the blower had seized, and that was the original problem afterall, and we hadn't really needed a thermostat. He left saying we need a new furnace. After he left we turned furnace back on after cleaning out the blower area, and it worked agan - obviously not seized.
Response from BOTHELL HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING
"When I arrived at the house, I turned on the furnace and it turned on right way. I never suggested that they needed a new thermostat. The homeowner had requested I install a new thermostat since I was already at the house, which I did. When I returned to the house I inspected the furnace further and determined that the blower had seized due to the age of the unit and buildup of debris and dust over the years. I informed them that the condition of the furnace would require a new unit to be installed to work properly. Even though they were able to get the blower working again, I still do not recommend keeping this furnace in their house. A furnace being operated past its life expectancy is not safe to be in a home. This unit can still produce heat, but it is not removing the harmful carbon monoxide gases away from the living area of the home. In this case I could have replaced the blower motor, but I refuse to do work that will put a homeowners in danger."

The gas furnace stopped working and I tried everything to get it running again. I finally gave up and found Bothell Heating and Air Conditioning in the Yellow Pages. The owner, Mark, was very friendly and asked a lot of questions about the problem. He gave tips on how I might get it going again, I couldn't. He had a technician, Dave, out the next day. He was friendly, professional and got right to work. He diagnosed the problem quickly, pressure switch, made the repair, discovered a few other things amiss, the filters were very dirty, and took care of them as well. Ironically, the very next day, my water heater gave up. I called them and Dave came out again. He looked over the water heater, figured out what was wrong and gave me some suggestions on what to do. In the end, he recommended a cheaper alternative through a different company! And, believe it or not..... they did not charge me one cent for coming out. That was unreal. You just don't see that much these days.
