Rick and Dawne Barela were a pleasure to work with. We had an offer on our house, but needed to replace the roof because it failed inspection. Barela's Roofing gave us a great estimate and scheduled us in immediately so that we could close the sale on time. Rick and his crew worked through the rain to get the job completed quickly and it looked great! I highly recommend them to anyone.

This is the second time I used Barela's roofing. Both times were for leaks on a flat roof. Each time Rick Barela was responsive in a timely manner. The second time the repair was delayed because of some mechanical issue but Rick was quick to communicate. The workmanship was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Rick found time to work in my small repair in his busy summer schedule. My roof is approaching replacement and I will use Barela's for the job.

Rick and his crew did a wonderful job and his was the best bid of the  3 bids I got.  It was honest and didn't include stupid unnecessary things in the job that another company gave me.  I have recommended him to 2 of my neighbors already.  Rick also came back to do some follow-up work after we did a new chimney install.  All great work, nice guy, and he deserves all the business he can get.  I would say if you live in the general area there is no reason to call the big companies.  Rick does not advertise on TV or radio, so he personally does his work, has many years of experience, and cares about the customer, the quality of the roof, and keeping the job simple with a realistic reasonable price.  Thanks Rick!

Do not get him to put the skylights because he has no carpentry skills. He put it in the wrong spot. It was off a little bit but it was okay. The smaller skylight was fine. When he put the bigger one in, he cut through the roof in the top and he ended up exposing some electrical lines through the skylight. He also cut through the beam that was there but it wasn't supported properly. What we ended up having to do was that we had to tear the whole ceiling out of the living room and them properly support the beam that were cut off and replace all that and redo the drywall. It was a huge process. Other than that, it was a pretty good experience. They were punctual and got the job done quickly. The people who worked with him didn't put the locations for the bathroom vents in their proper place. I had to ask a couple of times to make sure they'd get them there. They were Hispanic, I don't know if they didn't understand me or what.He said he could do a skylight and he couldn't do it properly. It was a huge fail. It cost us a week of work redoing the entire ceiling. For doing the roof, I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

The work done by Barela's Roofing was excellent from start to finish. They had the best price for what we needed to have done and finished all work in professional and expedient manner. An excellent experience from start to finish. Rick and his team were prompt, professional, courteous, and responsive. Their work was excellent. Rick clearly communicated exactly where my money was going on each component of the roof with a detailed estimate. When I went up to look at it after they were done and had left, I found a single very minor issue where a tiny section of the roof didn't adhere; I contacted Rick and he was out again immediately, and with good humor, to fix it. Rick also installed new downspouts and fixed a rotting section of my carport roof at a very reasonable cost, which was a big relief to me, as I had thought it would be very expensive to have that done.
Rick also installs skylights, and I will definitely hire him for this when my budget permits. Several years ago, I got roof replacement estimates from several companies, and Barela's was one of the most reasonable. I am very happy I went with them.

Rick assessed the post chimney repair and partial roof replacement for my flat (torch down) roof. In addition, he had good suggestions for additional repairs that he thought could be a problem for me in the future and suggested that I not preform some repairs that I thought might be an issue. The roofing repair was delayed due to delays in the repair of the chimney, but Rick was flexible with his time and accommodated the dynamic schedule. I performed a number of the roofing repairs myself and Rick was always available to answer my questions on how best to perform the repairs. He also worked with the electrician on how to install and water proof the new power pole installed through the roof. Rick performed the work in a timely manner and cleaned up the work site before leaving. Overall I had a great experience and work recommend this company.

He does a really good job. He came out on time and has assessed the areas that I was concerned about. He has been really responsive and worked well with the other contractors. I like that he points out things that should be looked at and things that I can leave--I feel like he's concerned about the job, not about making money.
