Didn't go well at all. A see through asphalt sealant should speak for it's self. It did. They got their $ and now I can go blow into the wind.
Description of Work: Better than average condition 1963 sq.ft. asphalt drive way. One minor crack, 1/2 in. wide 1/2 in deep at deepest point, and about 10 in. long ,tapering off in depth and width to each end from a deep tree root. Other minor common settling cracks as would be expected. Called for on sight estimate. The estimater took one week to arrive. Apt. made. Job completed 2 days later. The coating was so thin that the water pressure cleaning marks on the original asphalt could be seen through the new "sealant". Calls were made for the minor cracks to be filled with a thicker sealant. I called the business on 08-16-12. I was given the "check's in the mail" promise. I called again 08-17-12. after no one arrived or called back. "We'll be there on 08-19 , or 08-20". Another no show. Getting tired of the run- a- round, I went to Lowes and purchased 2 10 lbs. buckets of "black Jack" speed patch. It only took one to do all of the touch up that they should've done on the beginning. I expected these small cracks to be "sealed" against the winter rain run off. They sealed it like the Titanic, but it sure looked very pretty. Bottom line: even if the thinned down, see through sealer was complained about, there wasn't any customer follow-up at all. Maybe all sealers are thin. I don't know. I've only had new ashpalt installed. My beef is that they not only arrived early,I didn't have a chance to tell them of my un-met expectations because of their hit and run application. That's when I called to get the job done right. After being ignored for a week, I received the bill with the threats of collection if I didn't pay..NOW. Ok, I don't want my credit rating ruined by a bunch of fly by nighters that won't call me back or make an attempt to help the customer. So I paid them and finished the job myselfe.
