They are an hour and a half away. Dr. Westrope cares deeply about his patients, the animals that he cares for. It's obvious the way he talks to them and interacts with them. He, just as comparison, I had a dog that had a cancerous tumor in his bladder wall. Another veterinarian spent $2400 of my money not figuring out what as wrong with this dog when he started getting sick. Dr. Westrope for $200 figured out what was wrong, figured out that it couldn't be cured and euthanized the animal and disposed of the animal. My poodle, I have a full sized poodle, we went up for shots. Locally, they wanted $178 for third round of shots, Dr. Westrope did them for $28. I have a cat that likes to fight with the local tom cat. He gets abscesses from time to time. Once in awhile they are too sever for me to take care of myself. When I took them down to Cascade Veterinary clinic they wanted $400 to lance and clean the abscess. Dr. Westrope did it for $85. My pets accept him very well. I was a little worried because my cat is very large for a domesticated cat and he can be really mean. And he just sat there. He didn't purr or anything but he just sat there while he gave him the topical anesthesia, treated him with what he needed to be treated, gave him a shot of hyper-antibiotics. Smokey just sat there saying, okay, I'm just getting taken care of. He's never done that with a veterinarian before. He's a whisperer of some sort. I recommend him as much as I can.
