Alpha Steel Buildings

Company pulled the plug on all their contracts and stole ~$16k from me. The building was started and left an unfinished building and I got stuck with the material bills as well for stuff I already paid them for.

I requested a quote to build me a 36x36 garage with a 4” concrete slab. After all the paperwork was signed he tried to charge me $11k for the gravel work on top of the $50k for the garage. The 2 tree removal he stood in my yard and looked at was extra too. When all said and done, he had 2 guys dig up my yard for 6 hours, he spent 10 minutes cutting down 2 trees and charged me $15k. He is a scam artist. Don’t ever do business with him.

Back off *****, Let them do the job first. Quit bugging me.

The building itself is fine. However, the builder over cut the dirt behind the pad and water collects to the infiltration level, i.e., water gets in the building. The first repair didnt address the problem in the correct corner and was so poorly done that the water collection box floated up and washed away during the next rainstorm. It's been a year and a half since the barn failed its erosion inspection. Every time I call to see when the repair is scheduled I'm told to call back next week. I made all payments promptly and ensured things such as moving the septic drain field were done as soon as the need became known. The building permit had to be extended since it failed inspection. The repair will take about a day. The building inspections can't be completed and pass until the repair is made.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! The owner talks a good talk in the beginning, takes your money, and walks away. It took 7 MONTHS to build a simple garage. His guys would work for a day or 2, and then disappear for a month. When I called, I got nothing but excuses from the owner, Bob.  When I complained on the BBB of King County, he basically said I was too stupid to know how the business runs. (Look it up.) When the garage was finally done, he asked me to remove my complaint from the BBB.
In my opinion, this company doesn't care about their customers, nor how they feel. The contract is written only to benefit them.
I cannot emphasize enough to stay away from Alpha Steel Buildings.

 It did not go well at all starting with the down payment of 17,000.00. The first problem I encountered was the start date, They told me they would start right away before the bad weather and never did not even a phone call I had to call them weeks later. After they had gotten started it went better they always showed up daily. When they augured the the holes for the beams the County inspector rejected them and said they were to close to my existing garage so they made the holes bigger moving them and never compacting the holes around the beams like they should have so I brought a compactor from work and did it myself.it was pretty much down hill from there on out.I told him from the very first meeting that I was installing radiant floor heat and wondered if I needed a permit [ I knew you did ] He said no. When I went to the county permit office they said my building was not designed to hold heat !! Why wasn't it ? He knew before I ever signed anything that it would be heated........ He also sold me a 16 x 8 door that was not insulated. When I had the gutter company come out for an estimate he said they cannot hang gutters off of the facia board because it was to badly warped so I fixed it. Finally coming to the concrete pour I was so disappointed that I broke away from him and got with the concrete guy told him everything that had happened and said you do not want to be involved with Alpha Steel. Alpha [ Bob the builder ] led me along telling me I had money coming back he never paid me and flat out lied about it. When I arrived at his office he was on the phone with a customer who was unhappy ! imagine that ? So all in all a very expensive lesson learned. In my line of work I have encountered 4 people who have been involved with them and not one of them are a happy customer. I live in Enumclaw and thought I should spend my hard earned dollars where I live nope never again. I thought every business wanted return customers and good words said about the work they have done. The message I want to give is do your home work ask for references. Please think twice maybe three times about using Alpha Steel Buildings. He is very charismatic and should sell used cars on the side to supplement his income and to help defray court costs. He never even asked me if I was satisfied with his product ! just wanted to know if I had the final inspection completed. Thankyou for your time I know I was a little long winded..........

Entire project has been unsatisfactory.Delay after delay, county code violations and workmanship that does not pass county building inspections.  Very little concern shown by the builder.  This appears to be standard for them.  I do not recommend using this business.

WE WERE COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THIS BUSINESS. THEY GOT ALL OF OUR PERMITS FOR US AND COMPLETED THE GARAGE IN A TIMELY FASHION. THEY WORKED WITH US ON HOW WE WANTED THE BUILDING TO LOOK. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.
