Revised Review: After thinking about my previous response and how upset I was with the outcome, I would like to revise my experience with Michael. It really comes down to Michael misunderstanding our site plans and landscape plans. I assumed after multiple meetings with him that it was a clear plan. My husband and I were not kept in the loop about what it would cost to fix the mistakes made by Michael and his team due to not following the plans. - We found our house pad was put in the wrong spot and pointing in the wrong direction. - The berm created was so much bigger than what we planned that it restricted our house to barely fit the setback requirements on the north side of the property. It also prevented us from having road access around the house to the back of the property. This was corrected by turning our home just enough for our cars to drive around the side, but at a cost. - Our driveway became longer than planned creating more cost to us for utilities and trenching. - We are now left with a dirt yard and a large dirt mound that well need to hang out with for sometime, till we have enough money to fix it. At the end of the day we just feel taken advantage of. Very sad but I learned my lesson to not assume anything.

MW Sherwood is a very skilled, knowledgeable, timely and experienced professional that went above and beyond our expectations. Michael came in under the original quoted estimate. We had a pretty large driveway project, with a future need to add extra parking on the side of our shop and expand an area in the front of our shop. Michael with his imagination and expertise was able to complete the entire project and save us a lot of money. Michael and his assistant Jacob have our highest recommendations!

Working with Michael and his assistant on the excavation for my patio and pool was a great experience. Michael is a personable and caring guy and bent over backwards to get the job done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone that needs excavation for their project.

Mike is a master at his trade craft! Just completed my French drainage across my 2 acre property into a retaining water pond. Quote was the best out of the group Angli recommended. Crew went to work with no issues and took the extra time to ensure areas of my land werenâ  t affected by their equipment. Mike got to know me as a costumer and threw in his ideas I never even thought about for my project. Mike went out of his way to maximize my budget and I am appreciative of that. Hands down if youâ  re looking for someone to do any ground work give this man an opportunity to get your a quote at least. And that quotes free as well.

Estimate was thorough and covered all aspects of the project to include road repairs. The work done exceeded my expectations in both quality and time. I would not hesitate to hire again for another project.

These guys were great! They dug almost 800ft of trench so I could install electricity at my place. Mike knew exactly what the county was looking for, which was critical because I’m apparently terrible at reading directions ;) His advice made sure it was done right the first time. The price was fair, they took great care of me, and were a joy to work with. I’ll definitely hire them again!

Our sewer lateral went out right as the fall rains began last year. No plumber would touch the job and suggested I call an excavator. We chose Michael and his team because out of the 3 estimates I We got he was the only one that explained to me what exactly it would take to do the job. He started and finished the job when he said he would. When unexpected issues came up he was very transparent and explained to me how we would resolve them at no extra cost. He and his team are straight forward communicators, honest and hard working people. So much so that when we needed our yard leveled we called M.W. Sherwood without hesitation. Again he did what he said he would do and as before the cost was fair. I will hire them again as the need arises.

Mike did an excellent job excavating our front yard. He was efficient and provided customer service that went above and beyond! After uncovering large boulders on our job, he patiently worked with me to place several rock features that added to our newly designed front yard space. He was wonderful and we highly recommend!

Our sewer lateral was backing up into our house. The plumbers I worked with either gave a high bid or were nervous about taking the job due lots of ground water compounded by the wet fall. It was suggested that we would need an excavator because of all the water. Michael gave a very competitive bid for replacing 70ft. of sewer lateral on a Saturday. He also explained the complexity of the job so as to give a clear understanding of what had to be done. He and his crew (Jerry and Jacob) started the job the next Monday. The price was so affordable that I had them lay down new rock in our driveway and a base for an eventual shop. I will have he and his crew back to level and rock the rest of our backyard this spring or summer. Michael is a rare breed that is concerned more about helping folks rather than squeezing them for their last dollar. He was easy to get along with and is a very experienced excavator. You will do well to choose he and his crew!

Originally I hired MW Sherwood in 9/2020 for my backyard to be leveled and the space prepared for building. After reviewing the contract with the contractor about the things I wanted to have done and the things I did not, my concerns were not met, trees that I did not want removed, were taken down and debris pushed into parts of my yard that should not have been touched. For the trees that were removed, I requested for the stumps to be grinded and the contractor ignored that request. Lastly, I was told that gravel would be put down to even the space, however poor quality large rocks were spread out instead. After speaking with a different contractor he assessed that the rocks *it looks like debris from another project that should have been taken to the dump*. I have been told by several contractors that the land is not level and is not suited to build on. At this point I am wanting a refund to hire another contractor to correct.

Accomplished the work in much less time than expected.

Mike was very quick to respond to my inquiry and came to give us a quote the same day. They were also quick to get us on the schedule and we truly appreciated all the hard work they did. They cleaned up nicely after their work as well, which we greatly appreciated. We really felt like they went above and beyond! Would highly recommend them!

Mike responded quickly to my request. Came over the same day and gave me a bid. The bid was very reasonable. Normally I get a few more bids, but after talking with him I was impressed with his demeanor and fairness of his bid. He didn't disappoint. I hired him on Friday, he dropped the equipment off on Sat. And first thing Monday Him and his crew were on the job and making progress. I find Mike to be an Honest, hard working man who will quote you, in my opinion, a great price. I was very satisfied with the job he done on my property.

Mike got us on the schedule quickly and we were impressed with both his knowledge and his work ethics. He works hard and really wants to leave clients getting their money worth and then some. He put down a 50 x 50 parking pad and cleared the land as well as rough cutting a road into our adjacent property. We would recommend him and we would definitely use again.

Mike responded quickly to my inquiry and came out the next day to understand the requirements. Mike understood exactly what I needed and presented me a very price for the work. He completed the job in the time he said he would. What I respected most about Mike besides his skills as a heavy equipment operator, was that he made sure I was happy with what he was doing every step of the way. Thanks Mike!

Michael was amazing! He did a wonderful job. In addition, he was a delight to work with, a proactive communicator, a problem-solver, and an all around nice and honest man.

Mike and his crew worked from 0800hrs to dark ,7 days a week until they got my 600 foot road in and 100x 135 foot building pad completed, excellent work

Michael has done a wonderful job, he has put up with my inexperience and multitude of silly questions. He has had wonderful suggestions and ideas. I can not recommend him enough.
