Adam and Yolanda did an amazing job and the floors are beautiful! Almost everyone that comes into my house immediately says "wow, I love your floors!". Adam is very detail oriented and takes great pride in his work. He's a true craftsman. . I highly recommend Adam for any hardwood flooring job. He may not be the cheapest person you can find but the quality of his work more than justifies the price.

I originally purchased a "Big Deal" which covered a small area of my wood floors.  When he came out I asked for an estimate, which he provided promptly.  I had previously installed wooden flooring in another home, so I had an idea of the cost of refinishing, and I didn't feel the need to get multiple estimates for this job.  In fact other providers didn't seem to want to pay me a visit to give an estimate.
They did a great job - showed up when they said they would, they were clean, neat and quiet.  There was no dust, and all the work was done by hand, on hands and knees (ouch).
I was a little hurt when they told me I didn't have good quality flooring, but I wasn't surprised (I think this whole house had contractor-grade stuff installed).  That said, the floors looked good when finished and still look great almost a year later.
I have dogs, with nails, and a husband who likes to drop heavy things edge-first, so there are scratches and dents now, but it in no way diminishes the look of the floors.
I waited this long to leave a review to see how the floors would hold up - unfortunately I've left reviews for other providers in other categories too soon and have regretted it.  But, not in this case.
I will have them back to refinish again when necessary and can recommend them without hesitation.

OEF did a fantastic job - our floors look fantastic.  The built-in register covers are soooo nice.  I would definitely hire them again.

This started out as a very, very rocky situation.  He came out to my home and I showed him the room that I needed refinished.  He immediately complained about the fact that this was a little job and that he typically did jobs that were no less than $1,200 minimum.  He complained that he wasn't making anything off of the job and that Angies List takes 80 percent of what is charged.  He said I would have to remove all things from the room which I also was pretty sure I would have to do but it was all in the delivery of the way it was said.  He also told me the baseboards would need to be pulled off and replaced (which I knew) and said that he had baseboards and would drop off a sample.  He added the cost of the baseboards into estimate which was an extra $220.  I told him that I did not want to use his baseboards because they were press board and I wanted wood baseboards .  He told me that I would have to purchase them myself and that I would still have to pay the $220.  Because of all the complaining I wasn't sure that the he would do a quality job.  I was very concerned and expressed that to him.  He told me to cancel then, but because I had waited so long just to get him out there, I needed to move forward with the project.  I knew he wanted me to cancel the job because he felt he wasn't making anything off of it but I wasn't in a position to let him have his way.  He did a very nice job, the floors were beautiful when finished and the clean up was stellar.  Everything was left very tidy.  I felt that he was completely unprofessional in his approach as I had no idea what the contract was between he and Angies list was and I was stuck in the middle.

I would like to add to this since my overall review was very harsh.  I want to emphasize that He and his wife did an excellent job and that I love the refinished floor.  It's beutiful and they did a wonderful job.  This floor was very damaged, the carpet in that room was so old that it litterally fused to the wood, there were also deep scratches and marks.  When I saw the final work, I was very impressed.

First of all, we did not have to vacate the house at all during the entire process.  Nor did we have to kennel our cats, just sequester them to a room and leave them in there till a day after they finished. Overall process was 2 and a half days.
I had to move out the lower levels of the pantry just so that Adam could get his machine in under the shelves.  Closet also had to be emptied of things on the floor and hanging also so that he could get his machines in there.  That was all done the day and the morning before he arrived.
First day: He arrived about 9:30 and he had me move a few more items on the island in the kitchen that would make his power cords get hooked up on.
He rechecked everything, then removed all floor moldings, doors, and floor vents.  removed our trash compactor, but left fridge and dishwasher all in. He would slide the fridge out to sand and back in. Sanded all floors down and applied some wood filler to areas that needed a bit of repair. Note that he uses this high power vacuum/sander so that there is NO DUST at all.  Really great!
He left about 4pm. We were able to walk lightly with socks on it that evening if we needed to get in there.

Second Day: arrived about 9:15, then did the last fine sanding.  he applied two coats of finish and was done about 4 pm.  we were able to walk lightly with socks on it later in the evening (if we really needed to) - about 3 hours later. Odor was noticeable, but if you closed a door, you were fine.  Odor pretty much dissipated about 4 hours later.

Third day:  arrived about 9:15 and reinstalled doors, moldings then buffed the floor before applying the last two coats of the Bona.  This process requires the heat to be turned off since you want a slower dry.  He was done about noon.  heat was off for 3 hours, then he really didn't want anyone to walk on it till noon the following day.  Adam recommends to followup in about 3 years to do a buff and reapply the Bona product in my high traffic areas to avoid the major refinishing later.

We really were thankful for Adam and Jolanda's work. His bid is exactly what we paid.  No hidden surprises.  Very friendly family business.  I would highly recomend them.

We are so pleased with our beautiful new floors. Adam is a very experienced craftsman and his work is meticulous. The finish is lovely. He also found us a good price on flooring stock.
