Dick agreed to a fixed price contract with a specific time schedule, both of which he honored. He was nearly always on time for the job but let us know the one time when he was unavoidably delayed through no fault of his own. His work was meticulous and of the highest profession quality. Indeed, he was more a craftsman than a contractor on this job. The care and precision with which he matched joints was masterful and there were a lot of them. He used the inside of the garage and driveway for work area. At the end of each day, he cleaned up and left the area more ship shape than it had ever been. He finished the job on time and within his bid with no unexpected additional cost. As with another reviewer, we feel this is the sort of resource that is a treasure to have access to if you are a home owner. I don't believe that it can get any better than that.
But one caveat. Dick is an really interesting and an engaging person. I found myself, on occasion, in long conversations with him which, perhaps, we should have saved for the end of the day. :)
The only downside is that he is only one person and cannot take on multiple jobs. For that reason, one should seek him out early in the design process and retain his services to ensure his availability.
I highly recommend Dick Trueb and LNR Construction. You can have him after he is done with my place! ;)
