Locked out of the house and needed to get back in.  used smartphone to locate closest locksmith in order to facilitate the process.  Independent service tech showed up an hour later, and said i had a "special" lockset and it had to be drilled out.  price jumped from the $70 quoted on the phone to well over $200.  I believed it to be a difficult task and thus agreed to the service.  The tech made it look difficult and drilled right through the lock core through to the bolt on the inside of the house. He drilled all of the insides out of the lock, not just the core and pins.  He drilled through and mangled the bold mechanism.  He then reamed the hold out so big that  there was nearly nothing left, b/4 prying the bolt back.
