Great Electrical work done.  He is fast knowledge and is passionate about his job.  He makes you feel like you are his friend there are no dumb questions.   If you need work done, he is the man. You pay for the quality work, there may be cheaper out there but not  for quality like him.

It is a small company and he is a friendly guy. I like the quality of his work. I used him before to replace a panel and for a kitchen rewiring, and he did a great job.

Jim and his journeyman did a great job! They were at the house maybe 3 days. I kept adding to their work load as they went on. They were always busy working and let me know if there was something I missed. Jim was easy to get along with and very safety minded. They were on time every day and did a great job! I feel very safe electrically in this old house. If I ever need and electrical work done, Jim is the man I would call. I highly recommend him.

He did the job for less than what he quoted for me, has done work for me before and always does a good job.

The owner of the business prepared an estimate of all services to be provided
and the cost for all the fixtures and parts. The job I asked him to do was done on time
and on budget. He cleaned up after the work was completed and provided
a 1 year warranty on service. I needed to have one part replaced after 4 months.
The part was replaced with a minimal cost for service only.

Jim arrived at the scheduled time to provide a bid. He explained that he does not provide hard bids for remodels due to the uncertainty of the amount of work. Instead he works by time and materials. He did provide an “guesstimate” of the time and provided his hourly rate. This was acceptable to me and the time he billed was actually lower than his estimate. Jim applied for the electrical permit and was onsite for both the rough-in and final inspection. Both inspections passed without issue. Jim finished the work on time and cleaned up the work area before leaving. I am very pleased with the quality of his work and will use him again.

He and a partner were able to knock out the job in a day. He even helped me replace a fixture in my home while he was there for no charge.

He probably spent 35-40 minutes at our house going through an instruction sheet we provided him that came with the timer light we purchased last year but that has not worked since a power outage. He programmed the timer, then said the battery might be no good and suggested we wait until the time the light is programmed to come on to see if it works. I paid him his $109 (he gave me a $20 discount for being close by) plus tax and left. Well, it never came on, so I went through the entire programming instruction myself and discovered that the battery was in fact no good--according to a blinking notification. So I went to a couple of stores to find the right battery, which I paid $8 plus tax for. I inserted the new battery and the timer switch still did not work: the lights never went on. I double checked the bulbs to make sure they work. I feel that the electrician charged us to do something no one needs an electrician to do --follow instructions. He called it "trouble shoot timer" on the invoice. Our problem is that we have lights that don't go on. That problem has not been solved. I paid him $119.35 to basically tell me what I already know. I just don't think an ethical electrician should have charged that much for what amounted to a non resolution. We'll make sure we call another electrician in the future. He obviously hates timer switches. Fine. Then tell us "I'm sorry, I don't do timer switches", drive away, don't charge us and leave us alone.

We had four companies out to give estimates. We ended up hiring Edmonds Electric, who estimated a day and a half, and completed the job in slightly less time than estimated (11 hours). Jim was definitely the least expensive, but that was primarily because he really investigated what we needed when he was on site to provide the estimate. In particular, he recognized some incorrect assumptions of ours (we did not need a separate circuit for the stove, as we confirmed with the manufacturers specs) and we did not need 2 separate circuits for the dishwasher and garbage disposal (only one is needed for these 2 appliances, confirmed by code). He was also able to see a simple solution to a adding a 3-way light switch while keeping a separate 1-way light switch and outlet all in the same box that did not require additional cutting into the wall. By noting these issues, and by extending one existing dedicated circuit, he ended up only needing to add a couple of dedicated circuits, move some outlet boxes and add some new ones, and add the new switch wiring to the existing lighting circuit to accomplish all the wiring we needed. He was here today for the inspection, and everything was fine. The estimate and final cost was literally half that of two of the other estimates, and about 40% less than the third estimate. Again, though, while price is definitely a consideration, it was the fact that Jim was able to do what we needed, as opposed to what we thought we had to do, that was the real clincher. I do have a couple of quibbles. First, he completed the work over 3 days. Since I had to take time off work and work around scheduled meetings, this was not convenient. I was definitely expecting that he would spend one full scheduled day, then come back later as necessary. He did not let me know about this time issue until the morning of the day he started work -- after I had already arranged to be home the whole day. Second, I had some non-standard aesthetic requests (please put the outlet boxes in sideways, please see if you can put everything into one box, please put the GFI plugs on the side wall, not the back wall) and some other non-standard things about the job (please go ahead and trim out : I will be putting the drywall on myself, and I know how to work around the outlet boxes) that Jim would seem to only half-hear so I would have to repeat myself a lot on those issues (and ask him to switch out the GFI plug on one side after he had already installed it ) and that got a little frustrating (but not nearly as bad as I have to deal with at work sometimes! ) but overall everything got done exactly as needed (for code) and as wanted (for aesthetics). Overall I will hire him again and do recommend him.

Very quick response both in regard to returned phone call and appearance on site. Checked and tightened all feeds from panel boxes to the two water heaters. ID'd the problem as within the two heating units which was correct as later determined by plumbing contractor.

His actual costs were more than $600 over the high end of his quote with no explanation as to why. He worked on a light fixture that was not part of the scope and did not finish work that we hired him to do. We did pass both our inspections. However, the manner in which he interacted with us, including a challenging statement when my husband asked him why the costs were coming out so much higher, was absolutely unacceptable. After about 3 weeks, one of the circuits he worked specifically on has now failed. After several messages to him, he's responded saying he won't come back and fix his work. We were surprised at his performance, particularly since we hired him based on his reviews in Angie's List.
Response from Edmonds Electric Inc
"EDMONDS ELECTRIC VALUES ITS CUSTOMERS GREATLY. OUR GOAL IS 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. WE CONSIDER THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT WITH ONE MAJOR EXCEPTION AND THAT IS WHEN THE CUSTOMER THINKS THEY KNOW BETTER HOW TO DO ELECTRICAL WORK. THIS CUSTOMER COMPLAINED ABOUT OUR NOT RETURNING TO REPAIR THREE OUTLETS THAT HAVE FAILED. THIS CUSTOMER REFUSED TO LISTEN TO OUR KNOWLEDGEABLE EXPERTISE ON TIMING OF INSTALLATION WITH REGARD TO OTHER CONSTRUCTION AND HAD UNLICENSED, INEXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION WORKERS PERFORMING ELECTRICAL WORK THROUGHOUT THEIR HOME AS EMPLOYEES OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR. THE CUSTOMER WAS UNAWARE OF AND REFUSED TO LISTEN TO HOW THIS AFFECTED THE INSTALLATION THAT WE WERE PERFORMING, AND BLAMES US FOR THE LATER FAILURE OF A CIRCUIT THAT WAS ALTERED BY THESE UNQUALIFIED WORKERS. ALL OF OUR WORK WAS FUNCTIONING AT THE TIME OF THE FINAL ELECTRICAL INSPECTION FOR EDMONDS ELECTRIC PERFORMED WORK. WITH REGARD TO THE FINAL COST OF THE PROJECT BEING HIGHER THAN THE CUSTOMER ANTICIPATED, THIS JOB WAS STATED TO BE A "TIME AND MATERIAL" JOB. THE CUSTOMER ADDED ADDITIONAL WORK TO THE ORIGINAL PLAN AND WAS CHARGED MORE FOR THAT LABOR. ADDITIONALLY, AS THE JOB COMMENCED, THERE WERE MALFUNCTIONS IN EXISTING CIRCUITRY IN RELATED BOXES IN THE HOME WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THIS WORK COULD BE COMPLETED AND FUNCTIONAL. THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINED THAT WE WERE PERFORMING ADDITIONAL UNWANTED WORK BY DOING THIS. THESE EXISTING DANGEROUS CONDITIONS COULD NOT BE IGNORED AS THEY POSED AN IMMINENT SAFETY HAZARD. WE REGRET THAT THIS CUSTOMER WAS DISSATISFIED, HOWEVER WE DID THE BEST JOB POSSIBLE WITHIN THE CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH WERE PRESENT, AND UPHELD OUR LEGAL AND MORAL OBLIGATIONS TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE AND OVERSIGHT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND INDUSTRIES."

Jim was able to quote me an estimated price over the phone based on the description of the work. I was able to set up an appointment with just a couple days notice and Jim arrived right on time. He completed the work quickly and even came in under the estimated price since it took lest time than expected.

He arrived less than two hours after my original call, dressed in a shirt with the company logo and introduced himself. I so appreciate that in today's society. He assessed the situation, explained the situation to me and then proceeded to fix it and then switched on the circuit breaker and the lights all came on! It was a wonderful thing. It is so nice to have someone kind and courteous do a great job and not cost you an arm and a leg to do a job. I will highly recommend this company to anyone who needs an electrician in the future as I will be using him again if (and when) I need one again.

Jim arrived on-time to provide an estimate to perform the work. He had to bring in a ladder from his truck to see if he could reach the high ceiling. Once he concluded that this was feasible, he offered to stay and complete the job. We agreed to a price and the work was completed within 45 minutes. As a bonus, he re-wired the family room 2-way lighting switches so they worked properly without additional charge. Jim was prompt, pleasant and professional.
