Overall the engagement went well. Definition of terms and expectations is required. Both parties must understand each other before the fact. Clearing with heavy equipment is not brain surgery and there is always going to be collateral damage. You should plan on being there when the work is being done so you can correct/modify any definitions before to much work is done that does not meet your expectations. Prepare a punch list of exceptions/adjustments when you walk around the area being worked on and give it to the operator at the start each day. Any major changes made by the home owner will and should add to the basic bid price at a T&M basis.
