We got rid of them. They lacked attention on what we asked them for. All the trees were showing through and all. We're trying to get our yard and grass to start growing again, still. They were punctual. They came in and got out. I would tell my neighbors, friends or family not to go with them and to go with somebody else.

We are moving into a new home and I called to have someone come out and begin lawn maintenance and told them that once we were moved in and settled I would want to get some landscaping work done. My intent was to increase landscaping in the front yard and add some architectural structures for shade and landscape in the back. I wanted to be in the house however before deciding on the bigger projects. so I just wanted to start with lawn maintenance as quickly as possible.

Through purchase and escrow the yard work has not been done for about six - eight weeks.. My property is approximately 1/4 acre. This is apparently not enough to be of interest. Raoul came to my house and walked the property with my husband and indicated it would not be a big or difficult job for them to do and that we would receive an estimate and contract early the next week. He seemed knowledgeable and I thought he sounded responsible, even though he was 45 minutes late and did not call to let us know.

Despite sending mail and calling multiple times (only to consistently get an answering machine) I have never heard back from them. I wasted two weeks on the experience as I waited 4 or 5 days for them to meet me at the house. I am still looking and had no idea this would be so difficult to get a return call.

UPDATED 7/21:

After I posted my negative review to Angie's list I received an email and what seems like a reasonable quote. I am updating this from an F to a D. The estimate is a week late w/o returning any contact, this may not be that long a delay other than I did express a concern that I needed to get this done sooner rather than later, because of the lack of maintenance during the house sale period.. I will think about using them after discussing the delay and will update again. I am hesitant to rely on them based upon the delayed responses. I am suspect that my Angie's list review was the motivation for today's response.

We had a large (approx 20 by 45 foot) poured cement patio area, which was both ugly and had some drainage problems. Justin of JP Landscape worked with us to design a new patio area in the same footprint (required by the city). The upgraded patio now has large flagstones mortar-set onto the existing concrete slab. They did a basalt trim that frames the flagstones, and veneered the steps from the kitchen to the patio with matching basalt slabs. They built an L-shaped stone bar-be-cue at one corner, which includes a built-in Big Green Egg. (I had never heard of a Big Green Egg, but Justin assured me that I needed one, and he was right!) They also built a stone seating area to wall off part of the patio from the rest of the yard. The patio is now the focus of our summer entertaining, and I have become a master at smoking ribs in the BGE.
The two workmen who did the stonework were on site every day (M-F) for a month, except of a couple of days when it was below freezing and they could not work with mortar. They started at Thanksgiving, and we asked them to try to finish before we had a big Christmas party, and they did. They were half stonemason and half artist, and were a pleasure to work with. Their work was of the highest quality, and there hasn't been even the slightest crack in a mortar joint in the 2.5 years since the work was done.
I highly recommend JP Landscaping and would use them again. We feel that their price was fair for the work they did. They might not be your lowest bid, but you get what you pay for.

They were coming out weekly last summer. The work was top-notch. They had a crew that I could communicate with effectively. Their pricing was competitive. I tried someone else previously and wasn't happy with them.

They are an average company.
