D & J Tile and Stone

D&J listed their services on Craigslist, stating granite mini-slabcountertops for $21/ sq ft. When Doug arrived to meet us and give us an estimate, he didn't want to give us a quote. Afterasking several times and finally insisting that he give us a "not to exceed" quote, he told us it would be $1800 for our 60 sq ft of counter top. That works out to be $30 a sq ft, not the $21 that was advertised. We decided not to use his tile service but did purchase laminate flooring through him. We paid for the flooring then it took three and 1/2 weeks and numerous times of him promising delivery without showing up and numerous phone calls with no response before we actually finally received our flooring. When he finally did show up with our flooring, he was more than two hours later than he had said he would be. He is unreliable and does not show up when he says he will. I went to a home where he had installed countertops to see what his quality of work was. It was ok but the lady there said the same thing - that he told them the cost of their countertop would be $1250 then charged them $1650 when it was done. This man is unprofessional . I would highly recommend that you steer clear of him and his business. He has totally missed out on what the concept of customer service is all about.
