Island Concrete removed, poured and stamped a new patio, entry walkway including porch, 2 car driveway, and RV parking area (no removal in the RV area). Project was started and completed on time (1 week) and it looks great (lots of great compliments by our neighbors). The patio was also stained a sand color and it also looks great. Here are my concerns with the project as a whole: They did not clean up daily which caused some problems (such as leaving 2'x6' boards which caused areas of our grass to turn brown (which I am still watering heavily to fix). They drove across my lawn (and a part of our neighbors) with their excavating equipment without putting down protection on the lawn (again, I am having to water it heavily in the hopes it will come back). On the first day of work, Venly complained that breaking up the concrete was tough because it was very thick and he normally charged extra for this (which caused my wife and myself to be concerned he was attempting to re-negotiate our contract mid-project). Upon completing the work, I have since found the following: A group of 7 three inch screws lying in the grass about a foot from the entrance (most likely for the forms). The fence post that was removed and re-installed (for equipment get to the patio) is about 2-3 inches higher that the other posts (I had this fence installed 2 years ago and I know it was all the same height as string lines were set level for all of the fence). My next door neighbor complained about chunks of gravel being in his lawn near the fence post that was removed (he showed them to me and most were 1" to 2" in size). There were many grey hand prints and splashes of concrete uo to 4' about the pouring areas (at our entry, on the garage doors, RV area, and patio area). These took us about an hour to clean up. Also, the stain was sprayed on the bottom of the patio walls and on the bottom of the patio doors (no luck getting the stain off the bottom of the door so far). Simple masking or protective covering could have prevented this.
