Cascade Mechanical sent a service technician the same day I called for help. Chris diagnosed a failing compressor... wouldn't start. He managed to get it to start occasionally so he installed a hard start kit that fixed the problem. I understand it's a temporary fix, but with heat in the 100's it's an inexpensive option. I've scheduled an appointment for a replacement system since this one is 36 years old. Chris was courteous, professional, very knowledgeable and willing to answer my slew of questions. Very responsive and professional.

Having bought a new home in the Chelan area we needed the (old) furnace serviced.  Cascade turned up right on time, did a nice job for the price quoted.  They also installed a new thermostat on the spot without advance warning for just $25 more - nice not to be gouged for that!  There was a small hiccup when they mistakenly left a setting incorrect and the furnace kept running continuously after they left - we noticed a few hours later and they came straight back out to fix it within the hour, even though it was the end of day.  They're nice folks to deal with too!

They are a little expensive. I got quotes to replace the air conditioner and it was a lot of money. But they do a good job.

I couldn't be more pleased, especially after trying to convince a "local" firm to respond to my need over the past year or two without success.  The electrician showed up!!! That in-and-of itself deserved an "A" in my book based on past experience with a "local" firm.  He was a little late for the early morning appointment, but a snow storm had also dumped the largest accumulation of snow on the road we'd had this year.  That's the kind of service I sincerely appreciate.
We walked the property, checked the main breaker box, looked at our meter base, and reviewed our proposed projects.  I told the electrician up front that I'm looking for professional assistance and to have a licensed individual complete work that requires a license, but that I'm also good at do-it-yourself work when given instructions and a little guidance.  I provided conduit lengths for their calculations along with what I'd like to power at stub outs.  I also told him that I'm willing to pay for the time they provide consulting work, and that I'm not looking to get something for nothing.
The electrician offered additional helpful suggestions, and verified that the "metal plate" which was behind our main breaker box was simply the foil back on the insulation, and would not pose a problem in extending a line to an outside breaker box in the same area.  We even even discussed alternatives if we want to construct a large shop on our property in the future.
They will work up the wiring and junction box needs and provide the information to me in an e-mail in the next week or so.  I can either purchase and pull wire myself or have them do the work.
The electrician expressed his appreciation of how much prep work had already been completed - and indicated with that work done, this would be a very easy job for them.  Given that there is room next to our meter base on the outside of our garage, they can also install an outside breaker box so if any outdoor receptacle trips a breaker, they can be re-set from the outside without having to enter the garage to get at the main panel.  Perfect!
I'm looking forward to doing business with this firm - again, after having such a poor experience with a well known "local" firm..  I've noticed Cascade Mechanical at the neighbors house and they appear to be doing a good job for them as well.  Like "Rick" told "Louie" at the end of the movie Casablanca "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship".  I'm already very impressed by what I see and will readily recommend their firm to anyone in our area that asks me as an excellent, responsive, professional alternative.

We made this repair arragenment from the phone and the work was carried out while I was away. They were very flexible in working on the logistics of the repair as the home was out in the country.

It went pretty well.  They have been back to do some warranty work, which would have been very expensive.

We decided to upgrade our system i 2002. I ask for a Lenox system and there were multiple excuses as to why they wouldn't use a Lenox furnace. They put in a Lenox heat pump, finished the job in Dec 2002. We had multiple repair problems from the motor burning  up in the furnace to small repair jobs over the period of  6 years of which the warrantees were not for the for the repairs or the parts so we went to another heating and AC company. That company nursed the old system along replacing parts and just repairing anything that went wrong until this Spring. The heat pump leak all the coolant out, we ended up with 'emergency heat' bills and replace the whole sytem. To date with Cascade mechanical and the present company we  have over $10,000 tied up in heating/cooling systems.I would not recommend Cascade Mechanical to anyone and I told them this in writing and in person.

Response from CASCADE MECHANICAL
"We are very sorry for any inconveniences. We do our best to provide each customer with the best equipment and service possible, unfortunately in this case we were not able to install a Lennox furnace as requested because this home was a manufactured home and Lennox did not make a furnace that could be installed in a manufactured home. The customer was made aware of this and went with a Coleman furnace instead. A 5 year parts and labor warranty was included with this Lennox outdoor heat pump, and a 1 year parts and labor warranty was included with the indoor Coleman furnace. The indoor Coleman furnace was installed on 12/03/2002 and the blower motor on the indoor furnace needed to be replaced on 01/14/2007, at which time we informed customer that the one year warranty had expired. Customer was given a 10% discount but the amount to replace the blower motor was still due, which was $445.84. We do not have any invoices on file that would total any more than this. Usually the lifespan of a new hvac system under normal usage is about 10-12 years."

We had called on Friday, July 1st, but just got an answering service, so we left a request to be called.. Apparently there was some problem, because Cascade Mechanical never got the message. After the holiday on Monday, we waited on Tuesday. No call. So we called early Wednesday morning. After apologizing for the missed message, they promised to send someone first thing the next morning. He (Dan) arrived at 8AM, was very helpful, explained the problem thoroughly, and had us fixed in a little over an hour.
