My father hired him more than 1.5 years prior to the "completion" of the house. Mr Tomulty told my father the house would be built in 6 months. At first, things seemed to ok. However, since my father was an elderly man and beginning to suffer the effects of Parkinson's disease, Mr. Tomulty could smell money and he certainly went after it. As soon as the contract was signed, things began to slow down considerably. My father had trouble reaching him and finding out why no one was ever working on the construction. Mr. Tomulty hired the worst contractors imagineable and then charged my father for the best case scenario. By the time construction finally started, my father was living in a nursing home and unable to actually visit the house and see it. He died shortly after the house was finally done. I lived across country and visited frequently, but could only do so much since I did not actually sign the contract with Mr. Tomulty. When the house was finally completed, more than 1.5 years later and more than 1 year AFTER promised, he overcharged my father to get the house finished even though my father then had to spend another 10,000 getting compitent contractors in there to fix all the mistakes that were made before the house could be sold. He also built it significantly smaller than the specs called for and refused to provide us with what he paid the subcontractors telling us that he would not provide them unless we sued. We came to find out that he has in fact been sued for this exact scenario in the past, lost the case and then closed the business to re-start a new business with a clean record. Whatever you do, STAY FAR AWAY FROM TIM TOMULTY!
Description of Work: Tim was the general contractor on a new construction house that my elderly father was having built. He had owned the land for quite some time and wanted to have a new house built on the property. He somehow found Tim Tomulty and hired him to oversee the project. Mr. Tomulty was responsible for hiring sub-contractors, applying for permits, and theoretically for ensuring the project was completed correctly and on time. However, he did not do this AND took the money.
