Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. I should have taken the name "Mudslingers" more seriously. Shane appeared reasonably competent and professional on his first visit to assess the work to be performed. Before giving his estimate, though, he wanted me to tell him the amount of an estimate I had received from another company, obviously hoping to undercut the competitor by a small amount. I did not comply. Once I finally received his estimate several days later, the amount was less than two-thirds of the other estimate and I decided to hire him. His work schedule here (and that of his two "apprentices") appeared pretty much random and the job took longer than expected. The work site was a mess. The work ranged in quality from acceptable to poor. When I raised concerns about the quality of the workmanship, he insinuated that it was as good as my 1923 building deserved. (In our initial meeting, he professed his admiration for classic buildings such as this--one of the reasons I hired him.)
