My hardwood floors where so bad that I didn't think where going to be salvageable. I wasn't expecting any miracles, but he preformed one. I had water damage from a leaky ice maker, the place where my mastiff's water bowl set for ten years, there where scratches, gaps between the boards, I had one room that the floor was covered with linoleum that I had just removed the day before, there was a obvious difference in colors and a line where the threshold was. James made everything go away. I had just got divorced and my ex wife took all of the furniture. I was going to Fiji the day after he stopped by to give me a estimate. I wanted to have the floors finished before I got home, so that I could refurnish my house. I got home last night and the floors are beautiful. I'm going to hire him again to refinish my stairs, my mastiff clawed them up really bad. Ex wife took the dog too. It was nice dealing with the owner of the company that was doing the work, he has skill, talent and takes pride in doing a good job. I keep looking for a place to add before and after pictures, but I don't see that option.

James does exceptional quality work! He has many years of experience and the hardwoods he installed in our back rooms (replacing old carpet) are gorgeous... closely matching the rest of the house. We have a 1903 Victorian home. We hired James to remove 2 layers of linoleum and restore the original fir floor in the Kitchen . James was polite, punctual, professional. Very knowledgeable with old wood floors - he explained the process to us - his bid was very reasonable and he was clear about what the additional costs would be when he saw repairs were needed . He was meticulous about keeping the area clean and the rest of the house free from the dust. We will definitely contact him again when we need more floor work done and highly recommend him !

My husband and I had our entire first floor redone with birch wood. We had birch wood in the kitchen and in the entry way, tiles in the laundry room, and carpet on the rest of the flooring. We wanted to remove all carpet and tile and replace with birch without having to tear out the kitchen and entry way birch flooring. There were a lot of "angled" areas, where the carpet met the wood, and weaving the wood would be tricky. We hired a contractor that James was working for at the time. James was the primary demo guy and installer, and he was able to remove portions of the wood near the angled areas and weave the new birch wood with the old. The results are stunning! James was very meticulous and made sure that every new plank matched the old plank. It was like playing "Tetris"! James is very knowledgeable with the types of wood and how to treat them when installing. We would definitely hire James and his company, ArtiZen Hardwood Floors, in the future for any new wood floor installation and to possibly do a maintenance follow up with the new flooring.
