They were great. Quick response , careful with my plants, constant cleanup. Walked me through possibilities with suggestions. Will definitely call them again when I need something done. I was surprised at how stress free the process was.

It's very convenient to have a handyman come and do all the little projects you don't have time for, but it was a hassle because the guys truck broke down and they didn't get him a new one for several hours so he wasn't able to finish the job on the day he said he would. They sent another guy the next day (we didn't know he was coming because they never called to confirm with us that he was going to be able to come). The guy the second day had to fix some stuff the first guy did. Then we had to have them come a third time to fix things that didn't get done right the first time. It was almost more hassle than it was worth, especially for the price!

"Hello (removed member name), I'm afraid it wasn't our Mr Handyman franchise that did the work for you. We don't have you in our database, haven't had a truck break down, and actually don't do business in your area. Thank you! Karl, Mr Handyman of N Lake Washington and Bellevue"

I purchased an Angieslist deal of a pack of hours for a set price after reading positive reviews and getting the recommendation of a friend who had a similar issue. The issue was: I noticed a ripple in the ceiling of downstairs powder room, punched through the drywall and saw mold and water damage.  I had no idea how extensive or expensive this would be.  My handyman worked with me to pull out all the moldy bits to discover the extent of damage--which was not that bad--about 3 square feet.  Then we found the leak, repaired the leak, and repaired the drywall.  The initial pack of hours did not cover the entire project, but the total was under $1000--we were very lucky. The repair man was quick, effective and sympathetic to my budget.

I got the impression they had nowhere else to go that day and made what should have been a 4 hour job last 7 hours.  However the shed has stood up to a couple of winters and serious rain without leaking so the job was eventually done well.

Response from Mr. Handyman of North Lake Washington & Bellevue
"Dear [member name removed], Just to clarify: According to our records this work was done on 7/14/2008, more than 6 years ago. Both technicians were experienced carpenters; we don't hire unskilled labor. At $750 for two technicians this work was done in less than 4 hours, since we charge per technician. I am glad you are happy with the outcome of the project. Thank you much! Karl"

Job went great. It was tough, but the service technician worked hard and did all he could to remove the clogs and get the system working again...also, we had one small issue and they came right back out and solved it...great job overall.

The carpenter was capable and worked well and safely outside and up on scaffolding.  Owner checked work often and came to help as needed by carpenter.

The job site had a few pieces of wood left in the lawn but overall  they cleaned site up ok.

I wanted my cable moved from one wall to another so I could move my entertainment center without having cables running around the floorboards. I asked the provider to run the cable through the attic (the cable's already coming through there anyway), but the guy who came said he was too fat to get into my attic and drilled a hole in the outside of my house to run the cable through the wall to get it where I wanted.
I wanted a window that won't stay open fixed. The guy took off to Home Depot for 45 minutes before coming back and telling me it was impossible and I should replace the windows entirely or call the people who sold me the house.
Then, because there's a two hour minimum, he suggested I find more work for him to get my money's worth. I had an IKEA pot rack to hang in the kitchen so I asked him to take care of that with probably 30-45 minutes remaining in my two hours. He took so long (maybe because he kept answering his phone) he ended up billing me an extra hour and a half.
So for $400 I got a hole drilled in my exterior wall and a pot rack hung in my kitchen. Oh, and a valuable lesson on taking the time to watch tutorial videos online and never waste money on a handyman ever again.

It was a big deal thing. The man was nice and clean and did good work. He had to stretch out what we wanted him to fix so he went around and did some other little tiny things for us. We had to fix the shower stall about four times. It never stayed fixed and wherever he did seems to have stayed fix. It has not started leaking again. The guy that they sent out was not scary at all. He was professional, polite and seemed relatively smart.

We had a lot of different things that needed fixed so I got the idea to call Mr. Handyman from Angie's List.  It was a pleasure to deal with them from the very first phone call.  They promptly came out and assessed our problems and got right on fixing everything.  Very professional and curteous.  We will definitely use them again.

On time, polite, professional. Price was as advertised. Suggested one change to repair plan that worked out much better than my initial plan.

For the most part, it went okay.  We still need to get a part for the doorbell, so it's a work in progress.  They responded pretty well.

We discovered that the drywall just above the baseboard next to the fireplace in the living room was wet. We called Mr. Handyman removed the siding to determine the size of the water damage.  The repairman removed the siding around the chimney and found that there had been a carpenter ant infestation sometime in the past.  (We currently subscribe to a pest control service.)  He removed and replaced the bad studs and particle board around the chimney.  He then put the siding that was in good condition back on and replaced the bad siding.  Finally, he painted the siding and patched the bad spots in the drywall.  Finally, he hauled the damaged materials to the dump.

The work was done well.  It took four days, spread out over a couple of weeks (while I worked with our insurance about reimbursement).  My only tiny complaint is that I stayed home one day to wait for the handyman.  I had to call the company when he didn't show up at the scheduled time.  Other than that, the company was good to work with.  we haven't had any issues with the repairs in the two months since they were completed.

I wasn't horribly impressed with them. Quite frankly, I seem to know a little bit more about electrical wiring than he did, and that was the reason we called him in. We had an outside light on the side of the house that turns on when somebody walks in front of it, and he spent a majority of that hour of time getting that in. I then told him to go and fix the lights in the garage, and he did it but, when he left, they were in the same condition as when he came. I just thanked him and told him to have a nice day. I called in another electrician and he fixed it in about 20 minutes, and he also charged me less than what Mr. Handyman did, and that amazed me to no end. I thought that his price was a little steep considering that he only fixed half the problem, but I am new to Seattle and I guess things are a little bit more expensive here. They came right away, exactly when they said they were going to, and I was enthused when I saw them pull up in front of my house but that was when my enthusiasm started to wane a little.

The handyman arrived promptly.  He measured for the railing, then went to Home Depot to make the purchase.  He prepared the railing in our garage, then installed it.  He then applied the first coat of varnish.  He did an exellent job of installing the railing.  He was prompt and professional.  The only service I would have appreciated was clean up of sawdust in the garage.

He was very expensive and it seemed clear that he didn’t know what he was doing. When he didn’t know an answer, he made it up. We ended up getting someone else out to complete the work.
