I had rented my condo to a 21-year-old male relative and one look at the place after he left told me I couldn't handle the cleaning myself, so I hired Rosie. She brings all her own supplies, which was essential, and she was clear up front about cost. Given all I wanted done it would take 2 people several hours, and the $25/hour rate would apply to each worker, thus $50/hour. Rosie and helper were at the unit a few minutes early, ready to work. At that time I handed her a long list, including both things that must be done and other items I'd like done if they had time. Since I was asking them to clear out plants on the deck, two quite large (I was surprised that they agreed, without hesitation, to take on that chore), I figured they wouldn't get more than the essentials done.
Not only did they complete the entire list in less time than I had expected, but I had asked that the unit be vacuumed, and Rosie offered to steam clean it. The unit is now clean and the carpet looks better than it usually does after the yearly cleaning it gets from professional carpet cleaners that charge over $100. Nice work, much appreciated.
