They did such such a great job that we have now hired them to do weekly maintenance of our beautiful yard.  They are affordable, timely, professional and do a great job.

This was such a seamless process.  I will recommend Northwest C&L (NW) to anyone who asks.  I was really impressed with how quickly they responded to my inquiries.  They responded to my Angie's list inquiry the same day I posted a request for an estimate and Colby came to our home not 2 days later.   Our builder had left us with a tangle of vines, tree roots and rocks as a backyard.  The builder did nothing to clear the yard.  Initially we were only going to have NW give us an estimate to install the 250+ feet of cedar fence we needed.  However, when he started discussing the landscape, we realized he could do everything we wanted.  He actually came up with a great vision that would create 2 relatively flat grassy areas, and since our yard had a dramatic slope, he used the slope to create a "natural" area with rocks and plants.  He also realized that the yard would have dramatic drainage during heavy rain storms and designed the yard to drain down a rock river bed that creates a nice focal point.  We had our estimate in 2 days.  And as a bonus, they could start in about 2 weeks (due to a cancellation).   We hired NW, even if I admit that their prices seemed high.  I was comfortable knowing that I would be paying a premium to get someone bonded, licensed and insured, someone who could do the work timely, and someone so knowledgable.  Colby really knows his landscaping techniques and his plant identification and care.  And he has a nice vision to create a really nice yard.  I know I could not have done that myself.   And indeed, the work was fantastic.  I cannot stress how nice it was to be working with a responsive company.  Any time we had questions, he or his assistant would call or email promptly.  He and his crew showed up on time, and let us know what days they would be there, and what time they would arrive and depart.  The crew was extremely polite and respected our privacy; they did not play loud music and they worked hard everyday.  I had not realized how much work needed to be done, but they hauled out the waste they cleared, they shoveled rocks, they worked on the surface of the dirt to slope and grade the yard, they installed topsoil and placed 2 and 3-man rocks.  They even created a little rock staircase to get up to the high side of the yard.  They completed over 250+ of cedar fencing with a kick board at the bottom (I have small dogs).  It took 3 guys over a week to get our yard installed, and at that point I realized the price was very reasonable. 
 I am so happy with the results that I am showing off my yard whenever I can.

Our landscape architect recommended Northwest Construction and Landscape as a company she knew would carry out the plan she had developed. Though we lived outside the normal work radius of his company, Colby offered to give a bid, but warned us that he would have to charge us extra for travel time and fuel costs. He suggested that we find a local contractor and even offered to look over any other bids we received to tell us if they were reasonable.  We were impressed with not only his attitude, but his willingness to work with our plan, our schedule, and our preferences. We decided that the extra charges incurred in bringing him and his team from Bremerton to Steilacoom would be worth it. And they were. We could not be happier with not only the way the project turned out, but  also to have had the opportunity to work with Colby and his crew.
We were kept well-informed from start to finish. The crew arrived on time and worked hard  until the day's work was done. Colby supervised every aspect of the project, working alongside his men. He was able to make adjustments in the plan when needed.
When "surprises"  led to an unexpected surplus of plants, workers helped plant them in the back yard--without charge. 
The crew was very helpful in moving some of our existing landscape features (pavers, rocks, roses, etc.) to areas where we could utilize them in the back yard. 
We had gotten other bids before we talked to NW Construction and Landscape. Though we experienced a bit of sticker shock at what landscaping in general costs, Colby's prices were competitive. We are  glad that we spent the money and very glad that we used this company.

The yard already had a rockery from previous landscaping, but it just wasn't working for us.  With Colby's vision, he scraped the entire back yard and started from scratch.   We let him go which was enjoyable for us because, after several visits,  we trusted him and his concept.  Our landscaping project included taking out a concrete patio, completely redesigning a new patio, and bringing in small river rocks and large rocks, and planting plants suitable to our climate.
Northwest Construction & Landscaping LLC's crew was professional, on time, and dedicated to getting the job right.  I highly recommend them!
