They completed the installation of the wiring according to the blue prints for the elevator shaft. They took out an electric wiring permit for that. They didn't take out any wiring or plumbing permits for removing all the walls and so forth. They removed a whole kitchen wall, sink and dishwasher etc, and actually used a sawzall and cut the base plate of the wall and sliced off all the drain pipes, water pipes, and electric wiring without capping anything. They put up the windows on top of all these uncapped pipes and electrical. As a result of this, I have had the electric company out here about 7 times. I would get phantom blackouts because of the wires that were dangling in the wall would get wet. We didn't know that we had raw or dangling wires. How we didn't have the house burn down, I don't know. We had phantom floods where we didn't know where the water was coming from. I even called our insurance company because I thought it was rain coming from somewhere. Hartford sent two inspectors to come out to figure out why we were having water and mold in the house because they didn't want to pay for it if we had a broken pipe. The inspectors couldn't figure out why we had water in the house. We had rain coming inside the sliding glass doors. We had mold in our bedroom. We had to tear up all the carpet in our bedroom because of the mold. When they re-directed the kitchen sink and dishwasher to the middle of the kitchen, the attachment that they used was for an island that had water and electrical on it and they were attached to the new appliances in the middle of the room. We never thought that the pipes had been cut or anything. Christmas time was the ultimate problem when the ceiling collapsed due to how much water the insulation was holding above the ceiling. Eventually, a contractor came in and verified that the uncapped pipes in the wall were the problem.
Description of Work: We had them initially come in to construct an elevator shaft in our home. Then they were to remove all existing sliding doors and save them and install new doors in the same panels. They were to remove a kitchen wall to install a floor to ceiling window.
