"We did inform you we only did the initial emergency tarp off which by nature is not a permanent repair. It is a temporary tarp off which can, depending on weather, can come loose. His contractor he chose for the repair should deal with it since they are doing that work going forward. Apologize if there was a misunderstanding."
We have used this company 3 times. Never again.
The first time, they can in to complete a small job a previous company kept cancelling appointments for. They did great, and we were very happy with the work.
The second time, we found out the guy they sent the first time no longer worked there. We hired them to do some tree trimming and roof cleaning. The results were barely acceptable.
The final time, we contacted them for a very large project: a kitchen remodel with a budget of $45,000.00.
The first planning visit was fine. Then there was no follow up, and phone calls weren't returned. A promised estimate was never produced.
Eventually, we got in contact again and the owner Eric handed the project off to someone else. OK, we assumed he figured out he was too busy to take on the project. The new guy discussed our plans with us, and we gave him the measurements using software they recommended. It turned out they don't have the latest version of the software and couldn't read the file. That was eventually resolved, but again they never got back to us with a proposal, plans, or even further discussion.
Eventually the invoiced us for $139.51 for 1.49889 hours (seriously) of "consulting" time. To my regret, I paid it.
I do not recommend this company at all.
"In total, for planning we made many visits, all not billed for. Approx. 4-5 hours in total. To bill for this small amount for our total time invested did not seem inappropriate considering the planning was going towards a self improvement project. Wish you well on the completion of both the kitchen and bath projects we consulted on in multiple trips."
"Ken would love to stop by, see issues and then have our crew correct if needed. We just need access during business hours to take care of and make right if needed."
"[Member's name removed], We, sadly were not the drive of this bus. We started and follow [member's name removed]'s plans as directed and hired to do so, and they were wrong. Then as we continued, we also submitted to you all additional rot and damage as it was found and it was approved to fix, as well as the additional time now needed to correct the design flaw issues. [Member's name removed] also added work beyond the original scope. If it was not for the failed design on [member's name removed]'s plans and the additional work added as well, it easily could have been done in a shorter amount of time. At no time were we ever advised of a scheduled time that someone was going to be painting this project. To date this invoice is still outstanding for the balance. You have not paid this bill... Balance on invoice is as approved for additional work created by the bad plans and additional work requested, as well as the balance on the original estimate. Still not paid... Only payment we ever got from this client is the original down payment..."
In a word, and quot;miserableand quot;. Workman was late, no-show, work not performed as promised, quality of work was poor. No pride in the quality of the work performed. Since that time, company and quot;beggedand quot; for opportunity to make amends...so, I asked them to perform some work at a listing I have (I am real estate professional), and at my personal residence. Eric Metzger, owner took order three days ago and I have yet to receive any confirmation of the order nor has any scheduling been done to the best of my knowledge.
Mr. Metzger talks a lot and he talks big, but it appears it is only talk as the delivery appears to be sadly absent.
I will contact them today to tell them that they are and quot;firedand quot; once and for all!
19320"Thanks [member name removed]. I appreciate the feedback. My apologies for not fulfilling your requests in a timely manner. I did get all information finally from your email and did find the notes, I had given to an employee, who then was out sick, hence no response. Again, my apologies."
After an hour of work he said he needed to go get some materials and was gone 4.5 hours. He said our drip edge had a special color and he needed to go to Kent to get it and was stuck in traffic. Well, he worked about an hour more and left. He came over one more time for about 20 minutes and basically just took pictures of stuff he did last time.
Overall, he did less than half of the things on the list and spent less than three hours at our house. He fixed a little crack on our
chimney and attached couple of feet of a drip edge (he said he was a roofer and the stuff on the roof seems to be done well). Other than that, he failed. He tried to fix a faucet (still leaking) and instead of caulking our windows, he hammered and badly patched up our siding that was not needed and we did not want. Now we have to repaint because he did not even bring a roller (the reason: we did not say we will need a paint job… well, we did not say it because we did not want him to mess up our siding).
We got charged over $500 for this! We refused to pay more than our deposit–which was still over $400 and it took almost two weeks to settle this. Do not use this company if you want the stuff be done properly–or hope you get an employee who knows what he’s doing and enjoys his job.
Took him too long and I was charged too much in my opinion. He must have charged me for a trip to Lowe's for supplies he should have had on him. He knew he was installing a ceiling fan. But the install is excellent, fan does not move at all when running.
"Glad to hear the project did come out to your expectations. Every home and fan, etc. is different. Until seen, parts needed are unknown and therefore a trip to the store is required."
This was both times last year and when I emailed them last week.
I went ahead and scheduled them for the plumbing work and the person that came in was great and very helpful. The work done was good.I didnt have them come in this time because the emails just kept going back and forth and I would rather just have some one come in and take a look.
"With small jobs, requested pictures, and scope of work saves the client $$. We then would schedule accordingly."
As the job progressed, I was told they would have to do some sanding and in order to get the paint to really cover well, it would require a second coat. I agreed to the second coat but I was never told that they would then charge me an additional $500.00 for the second coat. I was really annoyed that they charged me $1,000.00 for painting this fence. I can't find the dimensions right now, but it is just an average fence in the back yard, not a huge fence and it was only painted on one side.
I think I was overcharged. I will never use this company again and am very leary about using Angie's List again.

"Additional time to do an additional coat and also sand entire fence, versus one coat same price? We apologize if we did not work up an exact difference in cost at that time as the project was already in process for you. Going forward we will try to be clearer in our communication. Thank you for your input to make better for all."
Ivan arrived on time with a list of the materials we needed. We all trooped down to the nearest Lowe's to purchase the materials. When we returned, Ivan went right to work and worked straight through for five hours. He was efficient, quick and did quality work. We were pleasantly surprised that the cost was considerably less than we had anticipated. (The $600 noted under and quot;Cost of Serviceand quot; included $220 worth of materials.)
I would highly recommend this provider and will use their service again as the need arises. They try hard to work with and please their customers.
