Took several weeks for scheduling as we used an Angie's List coupon but work was done quickly and efficiently.

It was done pretty quickly. Roofing Specialists Northwest stayed within the deal but had to give them tools and equipment though. They came without the proper tools. They didn't have the proper snap bar to do the shingle work so I gave them mine to use. Nothing stood out about them. The price was great, it was a big deal. Without tools, I don;t think you can be very professional. I probably will not use them in the future.

Roofing Specialists NW attracted my attention with their promotional on Angie's for the very reason to save some money. Shawn Hill came quickly to give me an estimate last year several months before I planned on starting the project. They were flexible with my frequent change of schedule. Their workers are actual employees of the company, not day workers, With a 5 person crew, they completed my new roof in one day, I was kind of shocked about that. My next door neighbor used a different company to replaced their roof during the same week but took 3 days to finish,of course it was a bigger house. I watched them work from my elevated terraced backyard, they were doing a fast and decent job. My roof looks great, I will use them again next time.

Purchased the Angie's List special. They seemed to do a good job. We had a leaking skylight caused by poor flashing. As part of the deal they replaced the flashing and it hasn't leaked. Given that we've had near record rainfall this winter I'm happy with the job.

I called and scheduled an appointment after I made the purchase. When I called to confirm the appointment, they did not have it and I had to reschedule it. I was not there when they completed the services. I had to contact them several times after they left so that they could provide photos of what they had done. They explained that I would need a new roof and included the pictures, but did not provide any details along with the photos. It does look like they did one repair that I specifically asked them to. The office staff that I dealt with was friendly and professional. However, the job did not get done in the way I had expected such as the timeliness and responsiveness.

It was okay. When they say your roof is fine for this winter, it is like you have to go through the winter before you really know if they are right or not because unfortunately I can't go up there and check it myself. So far, it has not leaked to my knowledge. They were courteous and they actually came early compared to what they said, they were going to come at one O' Clock but they came at ten but I was home so it actually worked out okay. They said I needed a complete cleaning, it was going to be $1400, and I decided not to do that. They do hand moss removal and since my roof need complete removal this summer, I decided it wasn't worth that much, if it had been halfway through the life of the roof I would have said of course. I had to reschedule it a couple of times because they kept delaying. We had some bad storms so if it had to leak it would have then because it was windy and there was a torrential rain. The price of the deal was okay. They didn't do any damage that I know of.

It went okay. They serviced the wrong address which was one problem. I contacted them and they came right back and serviced the correct house. There were no additional costs on the job. The rapid connect through Angie's List actually took longer to schedule with them, and if they would just send an email directly to me that would've worked better. They got the job done in just a few hours.

The service was okay, it didn't exceed our expectations but they came out and handled the problem that was left behind. We had a satellite that was on the roof, instead of putting it back or taking it down, they left it hanging from a wire on the roof so it's dangling off the side. We had to call and have them come out and take care of it. Overall it was okay, they didn't do a bad job. The price was good except for the minor details on and off. They were responsive.

- Seemed like no one from the company was on site during the work - Seemed like all subcontracted day laborers.
- Work quality was sorely lacking. Seemed as if they banged out the tear down and installation in about 8 hours when all the other bids say it was a 2 day job. My handyman looked at the rood and said the placement of the asphalt is shoddy.
- About 10 day laborers descended on the house and threw old asphalt in the trees and shrubs carelessly. When I asked them to be more careful, they apologized and kept throwing debris. They left lots of debris around.

I was worried about the quality since the price was a promotional deal, but Shawn told me it would not make a difference, and it will still be under a 25 year warranty. The composiiton shingles will be overlapping each other to add strength and I chose the gray color instead of black. Their references checked out were great. Price of gutters will be additional with a different company. I will update later after the roof is installed.

The appointment was set up for the afternoon when I would be home. They showed up in the morning when I was not home. My wife let them proceed, but requested they come back when I would be home. They never returned that day. The very next rain the skylite they worked on leaked. $199.00 was a lot pay to still have a leak. I repaired the skylite myself. Now no leak. The company was just trying to sell a new roof. Be aware of spending $199.00 for a roffing estimate, when you can just call a roofing company for a free estimate.

The roof looks fine. Essentially it looks like they did the job as advertised at the cost they bid, with no unforeseen expenses. However, there were a few worrisome things that happened during the process that leave me a little worried about the professionalism of the people involved.
1. I think communications could have been better. They estimated a stating date three weeks out from when I ordered the service. The day before that estimated date I still hadn't heard back from them. An email confirmed that they were indeed starting on that day. I would prefer better, more proactive communications; just let me know when an estimate becomes a firm starting date.
2. They dropped off a sample book for me to select the roof color I wanted. I still have it. they never took it back at the time the roof was installed.
3. After the roof was completed, the crew left behind 3 tools, including a skill saw and a shingle stapler on the roof! They also did a half-hearted job of cleaning up; we had to pick up a significant number of old staples and other debris scattered about. I informed the company office about the tools left behind when I was settling the bill. I think they sent someone out to pick them up, but they only took the tool that was in the driveway (and left no note or made no effort to touch base with us). They left the saw and stapler on the roof. I finally went up there this weekend and got them down myself.

"I have pulled our archives and found that the roof check, maintenance and inspection work done on this home was 2 years ago, September 1st 2011. The roof was missing multiple shingles in 2 locations due to wind. Our team took a photo to get a color match, and we had provided an estimate to correct soon after on Sept 18th 2011 to the homeowner with no response."

Roofer name Alberto with strong Spanish accent told me that he will remove and replace the old mastic below the power mast, I told him that I have some new shingles so he can use to replace old shingles but he then said he cannot. It appears $300 value with Big deal $199 is NOT a big deal after all. All both men did was to check the run off area, trimming a little here a little there and tighten a couple vents with screw and call it $300 value, there is NO repair. If he replaced the old mastic and fix the area that is needed under the power mast, then this BIG deal would justify. Surprising to me the big bill estimate even bigger for Alberto to lift up the skylight and replace the flashing underneath and the unfinished miscellaneous added up to over $1200 plus tax. This is ridiculously expensive company to use for small jobs.

"As the service and quality manager, I have thoroughly reviewed this member's post and our work records and report. As the old shingles have been previously smeared with mastic in place near a flashing, the power mast, replacement of shingles would not have reduced\eliminated the leak issue as it most likely could be being sourced from the mast flashing itself which would need replacement . This was outlined in our report to the homeowner, with photos, and included in our subsequent estimate to properly correct. Additionally, the skylight leak of homeowner is due to an improperly flashed skylight at a ridgeline that would need to be lifted, and entirely reflashed to ensure that it would not leak in the future. The integrity of the skylight unit itself was fine, just installed originally improperly. This was outlined in our report to the homeowner, with photos, and included in our subsequent estimate to properly correct. Also included in our estimate of $1,267.00 was to reflash the base of the chimney that currently is holding water and showing voids, and to lift and reflash 2 vents with an additional self adhering membrane that would ensure that there will not be a failure for the remaining life of the roof system. We have provided a full report to the homeowner with photographs of the areas of concern in addition to the work our technician performed as noted by the homeowner per the Deal terms."
