Ron Maack Construction and Handyman

We hired Ron Maack Construction to rebuild our deck. We were very pleased with the results. They also added a couple side projects (built a planter box with scraps from the deck project, nicely matching the deck stairs in design, and did a house siding repair). Thanks!

I hired Ron to rebuild my deck, he did a fabulous job, we are thrilled with the results. Ron and Eric were very easy to work with always on time, kept me updated on the progress and the clean up was outstanding. I will be using Ron Maack Construction to remodel my bathroom next, they are 5 stars all the way!!

We wanted Ron Maack to install a retractable motorized awning that we had purchased. He came out to look at our project and quickly realized that we did not have the required overhead clearance to install the awning, according to the manufacturer's specifications. He came up with and alternative way to hang the awning. We called the manufacturer and they said his idea would work! We would never have thought of his solution and would not have been able to have our awning installed if not for Ron's creativity and knowledge of so many things. He came back and completed the project and it looks amazing! Ron arrives on time, ready with the tools necessary to do the job. He is so knowledgeable in his craft--we have hired him for other projects and would hire him for anything he would be willing to do!

We hired Ron to remodel our master bathroom and he did a fantastic job. His work is top quality and we are really pleased with the outcome. He is easy to work with and kept us thoroughly updated throughout the process. We give Ron our highest recommendation!

We had someone install our front door, which did not work out. We hired Ron based on reviews and we are very happy we did. We contacted Ron and got a response promptly. He came to see us and had a solution how to fix the door installation. He explains everything he is doing and why. He completed the job. Ron's work is very detailed and clean, which you do not find these day.! We are very happy we hired Ron and will continue to use him on other projects we have. Ron was the only Angie's list carpenter that researched my project. Knowing I had to pass a labor and industry inspection, Ron worked at finding out details of the requirements to pass inspection.

Ron came out to my home on a Sunday because I had water coming in through a window from a previous contractor come to find out the install was done incorrectly. Not only did he come out on his day off but he helped me tape out the window with plastic so that no more damage could be done he then made plans to come back the next day that it didn't rain to take the trim off and take a look at what was going on! Long story short I would recommend him to anyone he's fair and honest! Wish I had hired him in the first place and I wouldn't have had this problem.

I had a deck in serious need of repairs, plus decided to replace my rotting wood decking with composite. After reading Ron Maack's reviews I decided he was the right guy for the job. It turns out he was! Since he was solidly booked, I had to wait a month before he could start. As he began dismantling the original construction he found even more issues than those I already knew about, starting with the underlying structure which he was able to level after installing a badly needed support post. Stair stringers then replaced the previous rot-capturing box system which was crammed with non-pressure treated lumber, then a few rotted out rail system posts were replaced. He then treated the new cuts with a pressure treated wood preservative. Only after he was confident of the structure would he finish stripping off the old deck floor and lay down the composite. Ron, in addition to being very knowledgeable, collaborates extremely well with his customers. After we worked out a few design ideas together, I ended up with a sturdily built deck I really, really like.

We needed a set of stairs for our two story deck down to the backyard. Ron was more responsive than any other contractor I contacted, and was able to come and give me an estimate right away. He worked with our schedule and gave us a set of high quality stairs that we continue to receive compliments on. We recommend him to our friends, and look forward to having him back for future projects.

We hired Ron after another contractor kept us waiting for 6 months to repair our home. Our house was hit by a CAR and damaged two walls in our guest room. Ron's estimate was reasonable and he did the repairs in less than two weeks! He protected our home (covered carpets & furniture, used fans, etc.), Ron always kept us informed on the status of the repairs and if he had to wait for supplies he was sure to do something else to keep things moving along. That really impressed us because we have used other contractors over the years and no one did their job as timely and professionally as Ron. We enjoyed having him in our home. He even helped me pick out colors for wall paint! His work is so good that you cannot tell the house was ever damaged. We will use Ron again for other projects we want done. My husband and I highly recommend Ron Maack for any work you might need.

Ron was wonderful and was so careful to make sure the cabinet will stay where he put it.

I hired Ron to install some new cabinet hardware on our kitchen cabinets. The knobs and pulls were not a standard size so many adjustments were needed for installation. Ron was very patient with having to measure out each door and drawer before drilling holes. The quality of his work was exceptional. He is a true craftsman who cares about his work and his customers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any projects you may have around the house, large or small.

Ron is an absolutely terrific craftsman! He really knows his materials and can give you a close estimate of the time your job will take him and the cost. Just as important, he really listens to what you want, asks good questions to help you define the project exactly, and tells you straight out what is feasible for your budget and your needs. His workmanship is top-notch and he takes time to do the job right. (Plus he always keeps you informed about occasional delays with materials arriving or other schedule hitches that can crop up in any good contractor's life.) I will always hire Ron for all my desired house projects - inside and out!

Ron is the consummate professional. He did a large deck and two smaller jobs, the quality of carpentry work is outstanding, he was friendly and a delight to chat with throughout the process, and he discussed every step in advance. He is someone I would recommend to anyone for any job.

I hired Ron for repairs to my cabinets, which were in pretty poor shape, as well as many other issues around the house as I prepared to get it ready to put on the market. I used him as an overall handyman, not just for the cabinetry work-- but that was likely the most difficult. He showed up on time, completed the job in a quick, thorough manner and did appropriate follow-up. I would and have recommended him.

Ron is a skilled craftsman who does an excellent job. He was able to size up the problem and accurately acquire the materials needed to replace the the trim on my columns. While doing a fantastic job, he took time in doing the project correctly.

Ron's work on the job was exceptional. He altered the upper cabinet to accept the new microwave and you can't even tell. I would definitely hire him again.

Ron has the master craftsmen quality in all his work, which includes carpentry, drywall,plumbing trim and painting. Our project was time plus material, Ron was accurate with both his time and Material costs. He managed his time well, and communicated with us promptly when a question or problem arose. Ron is First class, we would use him again in a heart beat.

Ron is an expert in anything he does--we were so impressed with him from the first time we met him. He was our first bid and we wanted to get a few others for comparison. Boy are we glad we did! Not only was Ron's bid by far the best, but he did almost every bit of the work himself. He came every day and worked hard--he also kept us informed of the progress each day. Our new deck is absolutely amazing--he gave us so many suggestions--which we definitely went with. When we have another project, Ron will be the only one we call.

Ron worked very well with us. He priced the total project and when it was more than what we could spend, he worked with us to get in the position where there was work that he would do and work that we would do. Ron is the best handyman we have ever had! His pricing is fair, and he is extremely honest, reliable and personable. He takes charge of a project, seeing to every detail, and makes sure it is completed perfectly. The fact that we have already hired Ron for additional projects speaks for itself.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!! I wish I would have found Ron Maack at the beginning of my project things would have been so much better. Ron is true to his word!! He explains what he is going to do so that you understand and then completes the work as if it was his own home!!! You can not go wrong with Ron! Nothing but professional at a reasonable price!!! I do not care what I need done in the future I am going to call Ron Maack first, I would not trust anyone else EVER!!!!!!!!
