PATRICK MCAULIFFE LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

Description of Work: Patrick McAuliffe was referred to me by a relative of his I found on Angie's List as someone I could call for an estimate for a lawn replacement. I called Patrick for the estimate, he came to my house, gave a estimate that was very reasonable and sounded like he really knew what he was talking about. His estimates terms included a $1500 deposit with the balance payable on completion. I waited for more estimates from other contractors and then decided to give Patrick the job. I gave him a check for $1500 and the following day received another call from his relative warning me to be very careful dealing with his cousin. This warning would have been very nice to get on our first conversation, needless to say. I put in a stop payment order on the check but was too late as funds had already been transferred to his account. I called him to tell him I was canceling our agreement and wanted my money back. He told me he would come by and pay me the deposit back. I have not seen him since.
