I reviewed, called and evaluated many painters on Angie's List and Home Advisor. The top three bids were very close in price.
He was an excellent choice because he arrived early every day and is very professional. Before I accepted his bid, there were many issues on this house . He thoroughly discussed, made recommendations, and addressed these issues before I accepted his bid and during the painting.
He and his helpers thoroughly prepared the house before painting -by pressure washing, scraping and caulking as needed.
Mr. Harrison did all the painting himself and he went the extra mile. For example, his bid was for all the trim currently painted white. However, I had not noticed that the flaking outside edge of the window frames were not white but the color of the house. He agreed to paint these edges at no additional cost because of my confusion over the definition of trim.
At the end of his work, he asked me to do a complete inspection so I would be completely satisfied. I found a few minor items, and he corrected them without any problems. He completed the paint job in the promised time period.
His excellent paint job greatly increased the curb appeal and helped sell the house. I strongly recommend Harrison Ellington for your paint jobs.
Deja does great work - takes pride in his performance and works with top materials from Benjamin Moore. If you're on a tight budget, as I was to prep this old home for selling, he will help you with suggestions and work with you to get the finish project you can be happy with. He shows up on time, cleans area well before leaving each day and always has a positive attitude.
This is my 2nd time using him and I've already recommended him to my Realtor, neighbors and friends.
We installed a large wooden deck at the back of our house about 10 years ago, using high-grade pressure treated lumber. For the first 7 years I used oil-based stain, but was hoping to find a product, which was easier to use. I came across the marketing brochures of a well known paint company's Waterborne Deck Stain, and the pictures looked wonderful. As a result I purchased the product 3 years ago and applied it to the deck. At first it looked wonderful, but within a year the paint had started to chip and flake, particularly where there were knots in the wood. Another coat seemed to help for a short while, but at the end of two years the deck looked worse. After complaining, a company expert came to our house, advised me on applying a more opaque coat of paint (he provided the paint without cost), but indicated that his solution would probably not be a permanent fix. This spring the deck looked worse than ever--chipping and flaking randomly.
We decided to have Deji Harrison give us a quote for refinishing the deck.. We are extremely pleased with the results. Deji is exceedingly conscientious, and takes pride in his workmanship. He is a stickler for detail-- and quot;good enoughand quot; is not part of his vocabulary. He covered up all the bushes near the deck, and protected the house where it met the deck. He and his helpers also helped us to move deck furniture, and they cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day and upon completion of the job.
We will certainly use his services in the future, and would recommend him without any reservation to others who want quality workmanship at a fair price.
Mr. Harrison was very helpful in describing the best products he uses from Benjamin Moore paints and did not rush me on my color decision, in fact he was very generous with his time. He did help me in my shade decisions, offering his expertise in what colors may show this tone and that and what to expect - as he could see tones that we could not easily see until he pointed them out.
After meeting with him and discussing what we wanted, we received his bid and it was in our budget and timeframe we wanted work to be done and we just felt he was going to treat us well and did not bother to get any other bids.
He showed up on time and prepped the house very thoroughly, prior to beginning the paint work by scraping and caulking, as needed. (We chose to pressure wash the house ourselves prior to his prep work.) He protected the windows from paint and tented the areas being painting so neighbors could not complain about any chance of overspray hitting their property. There was no mess left behind to complain about it.
He also offered suggestions on trim work paint that would improve the overall appearance of our home and he was right - it looks so much fresher and a bit larger than the other houses our age in the neighborhood.
When he had completed his work, he wanted us to do a thorough inspection to make sure we were completely satisfied. I pointed out a couple of minor things which he corrected on the spot with no complaint.
I highly recommend Harrison Ellington as # 1 in service and customer satisfaction and will not hesitate to tell friends and family for
their future painting needs.
