Green City Window & Door

We've used John's crew before for window replacement so there was never a doubt who to call when we needed more done. As before, Green City came through admirably. We'd recommend them to anyone and will certainly call John again should we need more work done!

John was professional and timely. He was able to schedule a quote visit remotely, which was key since I live out of state and we were doing improvements on our rental home. He took the time to educate me about the process, education, and materials that he would use to complete my project. He explained the warranty and work timeframes. He wasn't the cheapest but he really proved himself when he had to work with the roofers to get the project completed with 12 hours to spare before my renters moved in. All-around excellent service. He sent me pictures and videos of the project and was responsive via phone, email, and text for the duration of the project. Hands down the best service I've ever had from a contractor.

I’ve worked with a lot of contractors in the six homes that I’ve owned and sold over the years, Green City is one of the best. installed all new windows (every single window in the house) and three new doors, including a conversion from regular picture windows to a full 4 panel slider, and they are perfect. Price was on point with other bids, but knowledge and quality of products couldn’t be beat. John (owner) is a perfectionist and I love it! Highly recommend. That said, I’ve got to call a bit of “bologna” on some of these one star reviews. Not questioning people’s experiences..just expectations. And I’ll end it by simply saying, in our case they were exceeded.

We decided in 2021 to replace our windows & paint the exterior of the home. We received various quotes from companies that specialize in window installation and other companies specializing in painting. Only one company bid for both jobs. Green City Window and Door was a bit more expensive yet we would only deal with one company for the entire job! The reviews were good and we liked the owner, John Jacques. We felt we could trust his expertise, recommendation for colors of window frames, and which manufacturer to choose. We called Green City Window and Door and let them know we chose them to complete our project. They returned and re-measured the windows. The windows were not standard sizes consequently accuracy is essential. We loved the special attention to detail John showed. Green City Window and Door has performed many installations, a background in construction, repairs, etc. We were confident we made the right choice.it was great. The windows were installed. 1 window screen frame was bent caused by shipping from the manufacturer. The replacement was fast! We were ecstatic with the beautiful new windows! Now, we were looking forward to the 2nd half of the job: the exterior painting of the house. We called inquiring when they were to start the exterior painting of the house. Their reply was “we are not doing the exterior paint job.” No reasons were provided. My reaction? I called John to let him know I felt betrayed, angry at my accepting his word and his lack of performing what he agreed to from the beginning. I reiterated whys his company was chosen. He had quoted and agreed from the start to replace the windows and exterior painting of the home. The 2 jobs with 1 company are what landed Green City Window and Door the contract. NOW, his decision left us with a mess. We now had to start all over again. We also found that 4 window screens had holes. We called and let them know these need to be replaced. John hit the roof! Blamed us for not saying this before. His focus was on the money and our focus was the job is not complete. There we still 4 damaged windows pending replacement. An appointment was scheduled to review the situation. Marcus came by on July 7th, 2021. We noticed no mention of a replacement for the 4 damaged screens was noted on the invoice. An agreement was established that payment would be made yet a notation on the invoice is to note the screens are to be replaced. Marcus wrote, “Will install remaining screens upon arrival for (1) SGD, (1) living room, (2) Rec Room”. Both Marcus and my husband signed it and paid the invoice on July 7th, 2021. Several months later 3 the 4 damaged screens were replaced. The only remanent screen was the screen for the sliding door. There were various emails, calls made, messages, back, and forths – leading to the same result: NOTHING. Until 2 weeks ago, we agreed to reach out once more time to John before we would just give up! We can now happily say that after 12 months the wait is over, the screen was replaced on July 6th, 2022 and now the job is complete. Unfortunately, it is not something one can easily forget. I do not rate this company a 1 out of 5 because I like the windows. Only because of this fact my final rating is a 2.

To start, John J. is quite the sales rep. He handled all the sales info, discounts, rebates and was the contact person for all questions/problems. He emphasized the manufacturer "Alside Windows" as the best price and quality. Price was good but the ratings on Alside was mixed. He convinced me it was the installation that makes the difference(great presentation) more than the manufacturer. After 1 1/2 years no problems. The installation went well with a few exceptions. Slight damage to drywall on 1 window; they repaired. Bathroom tiles near window damaged; I repaired(all stipulated in contract). Caulking was done well inside, but I thought a little sloppy on the outside. John told me if I didn't like it, have them redo it. The installer's told me it wouldn't be noticeable once I repainted the area/caulk(in contract). They were right.

John was always late to our meetings. Rushed us through the process, was not helpful in the selection. They installed the wrong door and would not pay to replace it. They did not deliver on time. Rescheduled us several times. When confronted about issues John was very rude and belligerent. Would never recommend this company

Following a more than comprehensive first visit by John Jacques during which he brought samples of available enery-efficient, double-paned, vinyl clad window brands and styles, answered all questions and offered us information we didn't even know to ask about, and gave us an estimate based upon Snohomish County PUD's energy saving recommendations, John and his crew showed up promptly, on time, as scheduled.  Everyone was courteous, professional, and congenial.  John's crew, led by "Rich," was excellent and very knowledgeable regarding the finstallation demands by the PUD's Conservation Dept. It was a pleasure having this crew around all day for two days of work. The PUD sent an inspector out to evaluate the work done and it passed with flying colors, so our energy loan was approved!  Our neighbors have all praised the home's new appearance, and we have subsequently recommended Green CIty Glass and Door to multiple friends and acquaintances.
NOTE: We are shocked and very upset at the negative reports we now see on this List!!!  We cannot believe it's the same company, and will continue to highly recommend this vendor.

Don't Use This Company!! We purchased windows through green city due to a small price advantage over a competitor and we more then paid for the small price advantage just to pay to fix their work (let alone the cost associated with the time and effort required to manage the window installation). The window installation took nearly two weeks to complete and when they were done the windows were not installed correctly. This should have been a single day installation for the windows, but they didn't have the staff to handle our small job. In fact they promised they NEVER sub out work and on the first day of installation they had subs walk off the job because of their poor management. The second day of installation - MORE SUBS - They claimed over the phone that the subs were experts in installation for the manufacturer. The subs told us in person they had never installed this brand before.We had to have them out multiple times to fix the windows that were not installed straight, clean up the foot prints they left on the walls, and repair the damage to the drywall around a kitchen window. In the end we filled a BBB report that was ruled in our favor; however, Green City never did anything about it. Ultimately we had to hire another handyman to come out and fix the drywall and trim work that Green City ruined.Definitely not recommended!

DO NOT USE!  I called to place a rush order to replace to a custom broken window on 10/14.  The representative told me a rush order usually takes around 5 days to process.  He said someone would call me in the next couple of days to schedule installation. They charged my credit card the next day, on 10/15 and told me they'd mail me the receipt.  On 10/19 I had not received a call, so I called the company.  I spoke with a representative (Jason or Jaren) who stated the installation was on the calendar and was scheduled between 8-10am on 10/21.  On 10/21 nobody ever showed up or called to notify me of the cancelled service or to reschedule.  I called them and they said terms changed and were now going to be 11+ days and that they had already told me that.  When??  I never spoke with anyone!  So they said installation would now be at 8am on 10/28.  By 9am on 10/28 still nobody had shown up or called me, so again I had to call them.  They said they were on their way and were irritated with me and said that the appointment should have been scheduled later.  But they were the ones who set up the appointment time!  They finally came and installed the window and then told me I had to pay.  I told them I had already paid by credit card, but they still have never provided me with a receipt.  And because they never provided a receipt, I can't even dispute the charge with my credit card company.  BEWARE!
