I have used Forest Ridge plumbing for many years. Pete recently retired and sold the business to Jay F. Both Pete and Jay are the hardest working plumbers I've ever met. One time when Pete was too busy, he referred me to another company where Jay was working at the time. When I called last week about my current needs, I was very pleased to learn Jay was new Forest Ridge Plumbing. Jay is a one-man show just like Pete was and I could not be happier.
How many A+++s and thumbs up can I give?
Normally I do many plumbing things myself, but if this breaks off in the wall, then it turns into a job I'm not up for taking on. Pete handled one of these before for me so I got him out for this one "just in case". Of course, if it went well it would be quick, so I also tagged him to do the new toilet install (and watched to learn tips and tricks for the next one - he's really great about answering questions and passing on knowledge so his clients can take on what they want to themselves).
The wall work went fine and Pete works so fast and efficient that we were only halfway through the 1hr minimum, so I got him to also do a similar cutoff nipple replacement in the other bathroom (for a future remodel), this time cramped behind an in-place toilet. In true Pete form, he made that smooth and fast.
Lots done in a single call. Thx, Pete!
I called Forest Ridge because of a leak under an upstairs shower. Pete returned my call promptly. He asked a number of questions, trying to determine what might be causing the leak. Once we settled on it probably being the drain, he arranged to come out the same day, even though he was booked pretty solid. Pete quickly determined that the old gasket was worn out -- he had a new one in his truck, installed it, tested to make sure that the leak was stopped, and he was done.
I like doing business with smaller local companies where the owner is the one who does the work. Pete presents a very clean-cut, professional appearance. He is quite personable and friendly, while doing his work quickly and efficiently. I was very satisfied and will definitely call Forest Ridge first the next time I need plumbing services.
We had many problems with the plumbing in the kitchen. The plumber replaced the pipes under the sink and the sprayer above the sink. No more problems.
A few days later, I noticed that the repaired copper pipe was leaking. I called Forest Ridge Plumbing the next business day, a Monday. Pete arranged to come out within a day or two. Because he didn't need inside access, he said I wouldn't need to be home for the repair, which was great. As I was leaving work Monday night, Pete left me a voicemail, saying he had fixed the pipe (something was wrong with the solder he had used), and there was no charge, of course.
Pete is honest and stands by his work. His friendliness makes him a pleasure to work with.
He then adjusted the pressure reducing valve so that I now have water pressure. A previously botched job by Steve the Plumber who never checked on the pressure. I have been at 50% water pressure for years but Pete adjusted the valve in minutes and
I now have decent water pressure.
I called Forest Ridge plumbing and Peter happened to be in a nearby neighborhood and was able to stop by. In 30 minutes he had fixed the leak and told me how to dry everything out and suggested repairs.
He was on time, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!
