ELGIE GIBSON WALLCOVERINGS

This is one of those rare contractor experiences where it was perfect beginning to end. Elgie was able to bid the job through email (with pictures I took,) which saved us both time in scheduling a bid appointment. We accepted the bid quickly and Elgie was able to accommodate our specific install date request. He arrived promptly and was extremely professional and personable. The job was done in one day, including a 10 ft high accent wall and a large 5 x 7 ft mural over the stairs. Seams are perfect as are edges that meet ceilings and adjacent walls. Great experience and will definitely hire Elgie again!

Not well---the services I was promised only materialized promptly.    He bid a job and then less than 2 hours later, with the job half done, he just decided he didn't want to do the work.   I have heard of contractors who decline to bid a job or bid it high because they are not that interested in the work -- which is fine.    I have never run into a contractor who actually bids a job, and while on-site, just stops work and walks out, without any kind of provocation or interference from anyone.

I got his name from Daly's Wallcoverings, where we purchased our wallpaper. Elsie came out in early July to give me an estimate. I got three estimates and his was in the middle. However, he was the most impressive in terms of his attitude. I looked for him on Angies List and though he was listed, there were no reviews, but I decided to go with him anyway. On Tuesday, July 21, he showed up promptly at 8:30. It took him about 8 hours, he cleaned up his mess, and left. There were no problems and his bid was right on target. The work was fantastic, in fact I had to ask him where the seams were because I couldn't see them. My wife is very particular and she gave him an "A". He was very professional and I would recommend him to anyone.
