Doggy Haven Resort

This was the third time we have boarded our dog there and each time she has had a great experience. This was longest she has been boarded anywhere and being able to check their doggie cam and get updates was very reassuring for us. We regularly send her there for grooming so she is familiar and at ease with staff.

They got me in right away and they did a great job.

The place was very clean. Seattle is kind of rainy and they had a tent placed for that. A chain-link fence surrounded the facility so the dogs wouldn't be able to get out. They limit the number of dogs for the training so that all dogs get the attention they needed. They would start on time but if someone brought their dog in a little late, the trainer would let them catch up. I also felt they were reasonably priced.

We love Doggy Haven Resort. Our two pups love going to daycare there. We usually take them 1-4 times a month and they stay the whole day - usually 10 hours. Our dogs love attending daycare there - they're always so excited when we arrive and are happy pups when I return. They play the dogs hard - they're usually super tired that night and the whole next day. One thing I really like, is they seperate big dogs from little dogs - and because we have two little dogs, it's nice to know they won't get trampled by the big dogs. We've been taking our dogs there for a couple years now.

We use Doggy Haven regularly for dog boarding. The facility is very clean, the dogs are separated by size (this is great since we have smaller dogs), the friendly staff are true dog lovers, and our dogs absolutely love going there. It makes us feel well in knowing they, too, are getting their own vacation while we are away. We also really like how the dogs get lots of playtime, and aren't just confined to crates or small rooms all day like some of the other boarding facilities we have had to use when taking last minute trips when Doggy Haven had no openings. As an added touch, each dog receives a report card that reports activities the dogs had each day. It is also great that they offer grooming again, since the dogs can definitely get stinky after a few days of lots of playtime there! While the prices can seem a little steep, it is well worth the money knowing our dogs are in good care and enjoying themselves. Again, we have used some lower priced facilities when Doggy Haven was at capacity, and we would return to our dogs looking miserable, and having terribly soiled beds (making it obvious that they were just being crated and ignored).

All the staff I met were friendly and clearly care about the dogs. I was given a tour on my first visit before I made a booking. Each dog has its own "suite" (room); there are no runs. There are indoor and outdoor exercise areas and dogs spend most of the day out of their rooms. The whole place was (and smelled!) clean, although some of the decoration in the kennels is a bit worn. I was afraid my dog would be unhappy as he hasn't boarded very often, but he came out full of beans and seems to have thoroughly enjoyed his stay. They only allow pick-up on a Sunday afternoon, and only by arrangement. I was unsure whether we would be back in time, but they were quite happy to be flexible about pick up being either Sunday or Monday morning. Probably because of the "free range" interaction, they have do require a fully up to date report from your vet.

Our dogs love it there. It is the best place we've ever boarded them, friendly, clean, responsible, professional and full of great dogs. The location and facility is wonderful.
