Why can't I rate negative stars?? I would if I could. Please if you own a pet, do not take them here, go literally anywhere else. The extra 30$ you might save on vet exam isn't worth it. They are so busy that if your dog is dying or sick or injured, they will tell you they can get you in in 3 weeks. They don't care, and they are so rude and sarcastic if you even attempt to get them to show compassion to your sick animal. If you do happen to get a visit, the vet can only spare you 5 minutes because this place triple books appointments and the only recommendations she can make to help your ailing pets are the ones that don't require any actual testing or time. If you try to call them, you are on hold for over 30 minutes, and if you have a question for the vet, they will tell you they will call you back, and 3 weeks later I am still waiting for that call back. I wish there was a way to report this place for negligence. I really do.

After several visits over the course of a year, I finally switched to a different vet after I called in about behavioral problems with one of my cats.  I was told to lock her in the bathroom until she urinated on the floor. Then to scoop it up and bring it in for testing. Otherwise I'd have to wait two weeks for an appointment.
I'm still sad about this because I really like Dr Sowder. My cats both responded well to her.

Great office staff, they managed to get me in to see Dr. Sowder when their schedule was booked up.
I made two visits, one day for the Rabies booster, and the flea medication, and then two days later for the Health Certificate.
Dr. Sowder was great with my dog, Wasn't intimated with my dog's standoffish behavior. Understood exactly how to work with her.  By the time we left my dog was rolling on her back waiting for Doc. Sowder to scratch her.
Total of all services was $75, on both days, and the Flea medication cost $50 as everything else I had tried this summer failed.
The price for the 3 month flea medication equaled the price of the same medication on  1800pedmed.com
Other vets have muzzled my dog because they are only used to working on dogs who are VERY submissive.
I would and definitely will be taking my dog back!

My pet loves going to them. They are really considerate and they really are focused on the pet and its comfort. They provide excellent care at a very visible price. The vet was excellent. She sat down on the floor and make sure my pet was comfortable with her and she didn't force anything.

While the vet and employees are generally nice and the visits cost half the price of other vets, I've found that the tiny office is usually swarming with people and animals and the staff is completely overwhelmed. Quality is slipping because of this. The last few times I've gone in for anything, there was a line to talk to the tech at the front desk, a line of techs waiting to talk to the only vet, and a line of animals waiting to be seen in the one room that they have for visits. They've been so busy that I had to insist on getting printouts for my records. Recently when I took my dog in they diagnosed him as hypothyroid. Upon his follow up, I mentioned that I thought the meds were too strong since he was losing lots of weight and panting constantly (signs of hypERthyroidism, the opposite problem). The front desk tech checked back with the vet and didn't think there was a problem, so I asked for a full thyroid panel of bloodwork to be done, not just the basic thyroid test that only checked one item. The tech talked it over with the vet in another area and then came back and said they would do the blood test. I also mentioned that my dog had an itchy ear, with symptoms matching a while back when he had a bacterial infection. They cleaned his ear and thought he was fine. I repeated that he had the same symptoms as before, and since they were so busy they just gave me medication without testing him. I later found out they did the wrong blood test so I had to bring my dog in again, and they had to readjust his meds even though I had just gotten a multi-month supply. Fortunately they changed out his meds for free, and retested his blood for free, but it was a lengthy hassle and stress on my dog to get extra bloodwork done. I then asked for printed results for his bloodwork and it was a week or two before I got all the results in writing, and found that they still hadn't done a full panel like I originally asked for. Each interaction at the clinic was lengthy as I waited on an overworked staff and room full of pets and their owners and ringing phone. While I was waiting once, one lady stopped by to set up an appointment for a new pet and they were so backlogged that they couldn't see her for a week.
My dog is doing better on his lower thyroid dose, but his ear continued to have problems. I chose a new vet, and that vet did proper testing on my dog and found he had a yeast infection, not a bacterial infection. My dog is now on his second round of medication, and hopefully this time will be successful.
Overall I think that because they are so busy, their quality is starting to slip and they are making mistakes. With my previous vet in another city, I never felt like I had to question anything since all the work seemed thorough, costs were very similar, they had sufficient staff to make everything run smoothly, and I was given a written summary and receipt with each visit. I just switched to a different vet by Silver Lake and they are just like my old vet in the other city.

This is the first time I went to a veterinarian here in Washington. I'm staying with a friend right now, an elderly lady, who had this stray gray cat in her backyard. Yesterday I saw the cat and could see that one of his eyes were injured. I bought a trap and prepped it with cat food, sure enough the fellow was in the cage caught this early morning. I looked at Angie's list to find out where to take him so he could have his eye treated. I showed up at Animal's Hospital at Murphy's Corner, a tiny office, but -oh boy- the greater the service was. I had of course no appointment but they took me in right away. The staff handled the cat very gently and professionally, I was very surprised how smooth everything went. It turned out that the cat s a boy and a sweetheart on top of that with a very inflamed eye. I couldn't keep him, and the elderly lady I'm staying with made very clear to me that she does not want this cat in her home. What to do? He certainly needed regularly taken care of for his eye. So after a moment of thought the vet - I think her name is Donna - said to me and quot;he is mine, he will stay with me and I will find him a good home'. I can't tell how happy I felt at this moment. A vet truly committed to animal welfare. If I should have one time a place here and have pets, she will be my vet of choice. I truly highly recommend her.

I have always liked this vet. The hospital is small, just a one doctor show. They are always crazy busy. That being said, my pets have always been seen pretty quickly when I need vet care. I like the fact that Dr. Sowder doesn't jump in with the most expensive procedures and tests right away. She tries the simplest, least invasive treatments first. My cat didn't respond as well to her first round of antibiotics as we hoped, so I brought her back in and got a second antibiotic. I was charged very minimally for this second visit as it was considered a follow up to the original problem.
.Dr. Sowder took the time to listen to me explain some details about the stress level in our home while I am caring for a dying parent. She thought that my cat might be picking up on some of the stress and could explain my worries that my cat was and quot;offand quot; and ust didn't seem herself. She prescribed a natural remedy that often helps cats who are stressed, holding off on more extensive testing. The preliminary tests showed my cat to be basically okay other than the UTI. So far so good.
I recommend Dr. Sowder and this little veterinary practice. Don't let the small size fool you. This vet has a big heart for the animals (and their parents) .

They are very good. I have been going to them for about 3 or four years now. They are really fair priced and they don't overcharge people. They do a great job in taking care of animals. Their prices are also better than the other veterinarians.

Very friendly, knowledgable, and cooperative. Fussed nicely over my timid elderly cat. Reasonably priced. Only negatives are somewhat limited hours and lots of scary dogs in the small waiting area ;)

One of my cats is really scared and was shaking all over. The vet was really kind and tried to comfort him. She was quick and efficient to shorten the time he had to be out. I'm about to take them again for their annual checkups.
