WHITAKER PAINTING

This is the second time we have used Whitaker Painting. Joel came out, gave us an estimate and started the following week. Joel and his brother Dan finished in 5 days. They repaired a few minor wall and ceiling imperfections. The painting was excellent and the cleanup spotless. They were both delightful to be around.

Our house needed expert painting, due to its age and the tendency for previous layers of paint to bubble when off-gassing right after fresh paint, and also long after.
We were immediately impressed by Joel (Whitaker, the owner of Whitaker Painting) when he came to look at our house and bid on the project. He is the most knowledgeable painter we talked to.
The 2-3 man crew worked on the house for 3 weeks, from pressure washing to paint stripping, sanding, sealing, priming and painting. They did an amazing, meticulous and thorough job from start to finish. All through the process we were kept informed and updated on particulars or issues that arose (such as discovery of a new bee hive in the eaves or minor wood rot). They not only moved our flower pots, wood pile and patio furniture out of harm's way at the beginning - they put it all back exactly where it went when the job was done.
The house looks better than it has in many years, and we could not be happier.

The morning that I called him, he was able to come out and do an estimate. His wife and the other person who works with him were all very professional and friendly. They were wonderful to have around for the week they were doing the job. We didn't realize that were going to spray, instead of roll on the paint- but they did an exemplary job.

The whole process was great from start to finish. Joel came out the same day we called to give us an estimate. When we accepted the bid he was able to start within a week. Joel and John were on time and the first day was a lot of prep work, lots of taping stairs, ceilings and baseboard with some painting. The majority of the painting was done the second day and Joel did a fantastic job painting the closet without removing the wire shelves. We couldn't be happier with the results. I found Joel and John to be enjoyable to be around and highly recommend them.

This is the 2nd time we contracted Whitaker Painting. They painted two
bathrooms, an accent wall and did some touch-up exterior paint work. Joel and
John are very meticulous. We have recommended them to friends and will use them
again. They are not fast our cheap, but if you are looking for a quality job
ring them up.

We are highly satisfied with the work of Whitaker Painting and would recommend them to anyone. They were very professional as well as being enjoyable to have in our home. All the work they did in our home was a big job and they did it well.
I didn't put a $$ amount for cost, but remember that it was several thousand dollars. It was a winter with lots of snow and they came to work faithfully and always cleaned up before they left for the evening.

Joel came out to our house very quickly and on time to give the estimate. The estimate was emailed to us and discussed completely. Work began very soon after. The work was meticulous: very careful and complete caulking job and prep work followed my careful masking and unmasking of trim and siding, then painting. Joel and John both were very impressive in the attention to detail and the craftsmanship of their painting. Two solid coats of paint and stain, no mess, beautiful job. Neighbors came by and asked for Joel's business card, they were so impressed with the work. Looks great!
We spent a few weeks experimenting with different colors before we called Joel. Narrowed it down to a few, but we couldn't quite get a perfect match of the three colors we wanted to all work together. Joel suggested we let Amy come out and take a look. Best hour we ever spent on consulting! She found the colors that worked - colors that eluded us. She has a great eye and knows her paints. Highly recommended.

Joel and his team removed the wall paper from two bathrooms. The wallpaper in the master bedroom was really stuck on and we elected to just have it primed and texturized rather than spending the time/money trying to remove it and then having to repair the walls.They did a great job and were very clear at every step of the way what our options were. They did a major repair in ceiling that had previously had a leak, as well as an area on a wall that needed drywall and also repaired any holes, etc. We talked about the most cost effective way to do the wallpaper removal as well as the drywall repairs. They did a great job. When it came time for painting, Amy came out to the house and helped us choose colors that would work with all the givens in the rooms. She was lovely and very patient as we looked at different choices and when we tentatively settled on the colors, she got them on the wall so we could see if that is what we really wanted.They finished the entire paint job in 2 days- which included priming, two paint coats and touch ups.It is absolutely what we wanted and we are very pleased.I highly recommend these folks- they worked fast, respected our space [taking shoes off, making sure furniture was adequately protected, etc.], showed up exactly when they said they would, and delivered as promised.

   It was a very positive experience from start to finish. The whole painting crew was very experienced and worked hard each and every day. We were very impressed with their prep work, it was a very thorough prep job. The painting was very professionally done too. Upon completion of the project they left the staging area completely cleaned.

Joel and his wife Amy came out to give estimate. Spent over an hour explaining in detail how the work would be done. Amy was extremely helpful in selecting appropriate colors. They were not the cheapest bid, but I felt very comfortable with them and was impressed with how much time they took to be sure I understood exactly how the work would be performed. Joel put up sample colors on garage doors so we could get approval of our homeowners association. Joel and his employee John were meticulous in preparing house for painting. Even the neighbors commented on how thorough they were in preparing the house. They cleaned up each evening and adjusted their work schedule as needed to take advantage of good weather. When it was discovered that chimney siding was rotting and needed to be replaced, Joel was very helpful in helping me to review bids from siding contractors and advising on questions to ask and understanding what a fair price would be for the work. They did an excellent job and we were very pleased with the quality of the work Even the newspaper delivery girl commented on how nice the house looks. Would definitely use them again for any painting.

They were excellent and super. The contractor's wife is also a color specialist and volunteered to come in and help my wife and me pick the color. My wife was happy with this help she got. The overall decision with the exact shades and where everything went was a combination between the painter's wife and my wife which was excellent. I would recommend others to hire them. I would use them again in the future.

The thing is, we were trying to sell our house and were desperate to get the orange walls painted over fast as real estate agents and their clients (for the few showings we were getting) were all commenting negatively about it. This company (husband and wife painters) came over to give the bid extremely quickly, were understanding about our problem and managed to fit us in quickly. Then, they did a superb job, in a very short time. I am very picky and always notice flaws and imperfections. With this company I didn't see any flaws or imperfections! I recommend them highly! In addition to everything else they were really nice!

Timely response. House looks great. I preferred using a local company of professional painters, instead of college students or undocumented workers.

Great! This company was brought to our attention when we were looking for paint colors at a Benjamin Moore store in Maple Valley. We later made an appointment with Joel, received an estimate after our home was looked through, and decided to hire Whitaker Painting. The paint still looks new in 2012. This company did an outstanding job in our home.

The work was done in a timely way and wasn't too intrusive on our life. The job was very well done, and we are proud of how our home looks now. Overall, the work on our exterior paint job was completed exactly as promised, and was very thorough. I plan to hire Whitaker Painting again to complete interior work in our home. I would not hesitate to recommend Whitaker Painting. They deserve their A-rating on Angie's List.

They came out about 3-4 times before starting to discuss colors, put up samples, discuss how they would do the work. They did 2 phases of 2 rooms each. Each phase took about a week of having the rooms completely empty and unusable since they like to spray instead of rolling. A bit difficult to live through, but I was forewarned. An inevitable layer of dust due to the re-mudding and sanding, but otherwise they were great about cleaning up after themselves. They were quite flexible with giving me amended estimates as I adjusted a few times the specifics of what I wanted done. I'm quite happy with the results.

Wonderful help with selecting colors, put up samples on the wall to live with so we'd be sure. It snowed like the blazes while they were doing the job, but they were on time and braved the bad roads to complete the job in the seven day period, as they'd said they would. They were pleasant, took great care of our "stuff" and the paint job is just super. We love it and highly recommend them.

Working with Joel and Amy was a true pleasure. From the initial color consultation, through the application of paint samples on the walls of several rooms and on through the initial project phase (to include an office, guest bedroom, guest bath and powder room), they were both knowledgeable and professional. After seeing the results of the initial project, I asked them to immediately complete the remainder of the interior rooms (master bedroom, master bath, living room, dining room, kitchen, entry, and 2 stairways) which had been the long term goal all along. Throughout, they were accommodating and their attention to detail was truly extraordinary. The results are extremely impressive and I’d highly recommend Whitaker Painting.

Not only did they do quality work, they were so enjoyable to have in our home. Very trustworthy. Always called to say when they would arrive. That was the winter of the "endless" snow and they made it to our house when others might not have even tried. Our experience with them was outstanding! We actually missed seeing them after they finished the job. We highly recommend Whitaker Painting.

They were very good. I made a mistake choosing the color and the neighbors all said it was too bright once they started painted so they adjusted their schedule and repainted it. I had to pay extra but it could have been much more of a problem then it turned out to be. The quality of their work is very very good. I'm already thinking about where I'd like them to paint in the interior of my house.

We are very pleased with the work that Joel and his employees did. The gentleman who was on site and did most of the labor was polite, careful, and kept our property clean. There were touch ups to be done at the end of the project and Joel personally came out to do them within a few days of us calling him. They are a small family company so the "professionalism" is still evolving a little. For example when they came to collect the final payment (cash) they did not bring a receipt. Just small stuff like that. Overall we are happy with the product and the process.

Joel and Amy were a lot of fun, and did a great job. They were on time for the estimate, and on painting days. The wall repairs look good and they didn't give us too much grief about all the pin-holes they had to fill :). They helped match the paint color, and it looks great, all the lines are clean and sharp. And best of all, they even finished a little bit earlier than they had estimated.

I found it on Angie s List, but it wasn t in that category, but I found it accidentally. It was fabulous. The quality of work was outstanding. They are caring about what needed to be done and going back to re-do things that wasn t quite right. They used to critique their work. They are pricey, but worth it. I would give them A+ for overall work, if there was such a rating.

I think they are awesome. Talk about particular, team leader must have came out about 5 times to make sure that everything was ok. They were precise and very reliable. I would highly recommend them.
