Having worked for a local lumber company here in Maple Valley, I was aware of Tom's reputation for quality long before we were actually in the market for a new roof. When the time came, I was determined to at least get competing quotes from a few of the "big boys" as any consumer should. It's a BIG decision. But every salesman they sent me confirmed my thoughts about keeping it local. I’d much rather work with a roofing expert than a roofing salesman. I don't think I could have made a better selection. The price was right, the quality was fantastic, and the team that came to work on the house could NOT have been better. Polite, friendly, hard-working, knowledgeable…they answered every question, handled every concern. Clearly they are experts in their craft who are proud of what they do. As a craftsman myself, I know good work when I see it. I felt instantly comfortable that I'd made the right choice, and I’m as picky as they come. That’s a rare thing nowadays. I can absolutely recommend Taff (and his team) without reservation.

From my initial intuition, something told me to go with Taff Roofing. Tom Taff took the time to go over all details and what to expect during the roofing process. This was done during the initial estimate. Other roofing companies were here and gone within 15-20 minutes with no reference to details. Tom seemed sincere in what he had to convey.
Having a new roof put on while contending with Pacific Northwest weather can be a daunting task, But, working around the rain, it was still completed within a week.
Moreover, my unique location made things extremely difficult since a dump truck could not be located near enough for the crew to thrown the tear off into the truck. This meant everything had to be manually hauled by wheelbarrow to the dump truck. The heavy shingles also had to be hauled up a ladder to the roof instead of using a lift.
Tom went above and beyond the scope of what normally a roofer would be expected to do when he fixed a truss problem which involved a dip on one side of the roof. He climbed into the attic and with the use of a brace, the roof was raised just enough to even it out. It came out perfect!
With some specimen plants, the crew took care to protect them. Clean up was meticulous as well.
Lastly, when a supplier sent a cheaper ridge material, Tom sent it back and got it replaced with the correct material. (I would never have known the difference.) It’s so nice to work with a company who is honest and has integrity.
For these reasons, I highly recommend Taff Roofing.

Tom Taff (the owner) came over to our house and looked at the flashings on the chimney, showed us what was wrong and gave us an estimate of the cost. He did a great job on the repair - he was thorough and took his time to make sure it was done right. Tom has over 20 years experience in roofing and it shows. He was a pleasure to work with and we would recommend him for repairs or a whole new roof.

Tom, the owner, came out in October and tarped our roof in the pouring rain to address a leak. A few months later, we hired him to re-roof the upper portion of our house, replace 4 skylights, and install a sun tunnel and solar attic fan.

He found replacement skylight models that fit perfectly into the existing openings and saved us the trouble and expense of having to do dry wall work on the ceiling.

Tom was at the job every day with a crew of three. He assisted from the inside on the installation of the skylights to ensure that the skylight wells in the ceiling were not damaged during installation and installed the sun tunnel himself.

When the roofing material supplier could not match the color of the lower roof in a 30 year shingle, they gave Tom 40 year shingles that did match at the 30 year shingle price. Tom passed that savings on to us rather than coming back and asking us to pay more even though his bid had been for 30 year shingles.

I chose Taff Roofing over another company with a good reputation who promised to get the job done very quickly with a large crew because I had the feeling that Tom felt a strong personal responsibility for the quality of his company's work and I was not disappointed.

Tom is one of those contractors who aren't always easy to find: honest, trustworthy, and very committed to quality workmanship.

Tom and his office answer phone calls PROMPTLY! He comes at the time scheduled, letting us know that he is on his way. He is very professional and easy to deal with...explains the problems he finds and what he thinks could and should be done. My husband has very much appreciated working with him . He does the work in a highly competent manner, and has very reasonable charges for his experienced and expert work. He left the area, both times, in a condition that is ready for whatever work must follow. He works steadily and honors his bids, and leaves the area clean and in order.

The owner, Tom Taff, is very passionate about his work. We were given a written quotation and that is exactly what we paid even though he found some old roofing under the old tar paper that had to be removed and disposed of. The crew arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves as would be expected. We were completely satisfied with the work and the roof looks great. About 3 years after the roof was installed we had a small leak. We contacted Taff Roofing and we were told that the owner had a fairly tight schedule that day and might not be able to check out the problem for a few days. When we got home from work that day, the owner had been to the house and repaired the problem and there hasn't been an issue since. We would not hesitate to recommend Taff Roofing to anyone.

We were pleased with him at the time, and we had one issue with the roof, which sometimes happens with new roofs, and he came out and took care of it right away. Very recently there was leak in the soffit and he came out and took care of it at no charge.

We had several estimates and these guys were very reasonable. The work is guaranteed and they did a great job. They were always on time and very neat. They made sure that all the debris was picked up and that no nails were still laying around.

They do great work. They are always on time and pleasant to work with. He does not talk down to me and is very professional. He is always available to answer questions.
