They were able to come up with a floorplan that we liked. They got it done on schedule.

Consider the long-term warranty they offer. We think it would have been a 50-50 decision for us.
The painting subcontractor they used was OK but not great...we found a number of poorly-done areas which Skeers corrected before we signed off on the job; remember, most the paint is sprayed so you need to check the work carefully and everywhere. Use masking tape (which even Skeers recommends) to mark all defects.
Because of the radiant heat (which we love!) there are limits to what can be nailed into the subfloor--it's concrete--so caulking is a common bonding technique. This should be looked at carefully, as you may see it for years to come...
They were disciplined about their adherence to their followup schedule, which called for immediate solution of significant problems, and reviews at particular times, (six months, one year). Be sure you cover every detail in your lists, otherwise the corrections won't be made! We understand this: They cannot be chasing corrections one by one since they build a fair number of homes! Also, occasionally their key folks have been a little slow in follow up, but we always felt it really was because they were busy; we've never felt they were avoiding us.
We endorse this company's commitment to their customers...they have been here a long time and have an excellent reputation with their competitors, suppliers, and bankers, as well as their customers like us.
