boards, so they have fused together and buckle. This creates several
pools of water on the deck. Rose was supposed to put in wide stairs, but
mid-construction claimed the bottom half couldn't be clear to the house
because of the electrical box. We found out later we could have
relocated the box, but they never presented that as an option. Overall,
Rose's prices were far too high, especially for the poor quality of work
done.
"Angies list response 10/7/13 First of all, I would like to extend a very sincere apology for any inconvenience or stress this issue may have caused. My name is DyLon, I have worked for Rose Construction for 6 years and took ownership in January of 2012. I have been in close contact with the original owner, Pat, and have been brought up to speed on your project. Our notes indicate that your project was billed 100% 8 years ago in 2005. Your review surprised us as we were unaware of any negative feedback about your project until now. You never contacted us to express grievance, in fact, we were called back an additional 3 times for warranty work. I’m sure you can understand our shock to see your review. In regards to the Trex, it was installed at the manufacturers’ requirement of ¼” to ⅜” between boards. As it was explained at the time, sometimes the gap between the boards can get clogged with debris and will need to be flushed out with a hose set on a high stream to clear the debris and avoid any pooling. It is good to clean debris from your deck a few times a year. In regards to the electrical box (electric meter), options were presented. It was agreed upon to construct stairs to the midway landing 3 feet wide and the stairs from the midway landing to the top landing 6 feet wide, allowing the required access to the meter. It is unfortunate that on rare occasions challenges present themselves. This was one of those challenges, but the best solution was one that we had discussed in detail and agreed upon mutually. We take much pride in the high quality of our work, the integrity of our prices, the loyalty of our employees and clients, and honest foundation that has helped us succeed for over 28 years. Thank you."
