I'd say generally the man did a good job.  When it came to the end of the job he flaked out, he said they were all done and wanted to get paid.  As far as I knew it was done but I needed to get the permit finalized.  I took a look at the plan and realized the man had not done certain things that were on the plan.  It was like he didn't read the plan and there were things that needed to be complete, it took him about 4 hours to complete when he finally did but it would have never passed inspection otherwise.  I called him up and he didn't say he was sorry or anything.  For instance he would say he would show up then not showing up.  He was a good carpenter and had the skill but seemed to need the money more at the end and kind of dropped the ball.  He never said he was sorry.  i wouldn't recommend him even though generally speaking he did a good job but the unreliability messed it up.
