Work was done well...during busy season. Waited for appraiser, waited for quote, waited to be put on calendar. Had to call to get information about dates, etc., rather than being provided information proactively by the company. Perhaps they should consider hiring a seasonal person in charge of communicating with customers.

Kurt reviewed the scope of work with us on site, and had a couple of excellent suggestions that we (and our intenet education) wouldn't have thought of. We were clearly told how the work would progress and schedules were met exactly as initially stated. The 3-4 forms needed were handled by email, making the paperwork easy for us. The quoted price happened to equal the price of the local contractor, despite the fact that Northwest Fence is nearly an hour farther away and they of course have to pay their crew members while travelling. There were no change order price increases despite a couple of last minute revisions by us. The two crews who worked on the job were professional, work-focused and enjoyable to be around. Our main contacts on the job were Josh, Kevin and Randy, and we recommend all three. The ending quality was above what we expected. If you're looking to have an enjoyable, rather than frustrating experience with a contractor, use these folks.

They were very professional and clarified everything to make sure it was what I wanted and ordered.

A project estimator came out to take measurements and gave me the bid. About a month later I accepted the bid and paid half of the total cost. Two months later they set the posts on the hill with great care to make sure that everything lined up. They came back a week later and put the fence together with the material I had specified. It looks way better than before and I am pleased to recommend them.

Scheduling was difficult. It took weeks for them to respond with a proposal after a big wind storm. That makes sense. But then after I signed the proposal and paid half I still waited a couple weeks and heard nothing. Called and asked about scheduling and was given a day. They did not show up that day. Called back. They showed up two days later. They did a fine job but I had misunderstood the contract I signed, thinking they would be replacing some of the fencing. Instead, one 4 x4 and post bracket and two men's labor for 1.5 hours is costing me almost $800. I spoke with them about this and got a reasonably fair explanation that is the cost for them of arranging their workers and that sometimes this very same job can last 4 or 5 hours. I was disappointed they didn't offer to shave even $100 off the total price, especially considering their poor response time. Will not use them again.

"B" grade for quality is not for there work, it's for not explaining that the fence line needed to be graded. They said the fence line needed to be cleared. I hired someone to clear the brush but they did a poor job of grading. This lead to an uneven surface that left low areas under the fence. NW tried to fix the gaps and did a lot of extra work that was much appreciated. The people doing the fence line clearing caused me to lose my first scheduled start date. NW is so busy that I dared not reschedule while I brought someone in to "grade the fence line. _x000D_|As the customer I should have known about the grading and how important it was, I didn't and a lot of problems could have been avoided if it would have been explained. I would use NW fence again with out hesitation.

Communication was disjointed, from the time contract proposal was received by email: said they would "put me on the schedule" once a deposit was received. However, no mention of how much the deposit had ever been stated in the proposal. Called them, found out it was half estimated cost of the repair, gave pymt over phone. Then - nothing. No phone call or email to advise even a remote ETA for the repair. Finally called them, and found they had put me in their schedule for 2 or 3 weeks after I had paid the deposit. Good work, but their side of the communication was miserable.

They were fine. Their price was competitive and they did a quick installation. They did a good job and they did what they promised.

These folks are the BEST! From design to completion, everything is done well and professionally handled. And they always (4 separate orders) finished the work either early or on the day they promised. Prices are very reasonable, too.
I will work with them again in a heartbeat. Wonderful company!

We have one section of cedar fencing that used to collapse every time there was a strong wind (4-6 times a year!). We had tried to repair it ourselves many times, and finally decided to call in professionals. The folks at Northwest Fence helped us to figure out what kind of fence would withstand the wind (we decided on the "Good Neighbor" fence, with alternates boards on both sides of the center beam, allowing wind to pass through more easily, while still providing privacy), came out and gave us an estimate, and then came out to pour concrete for the posts. They showed up when they said they would, and always called the day before to confirm.
The day they were supposed to complete the fence, they called and rescheduled for the next day -- they were very polite and apologetic, explaining that a previous job was taking longer than expected.
The next day, they showed up on time again, completed everything in just a few hours, and did a beautiful job! The finished job looked so professional and sturdy, and the finishing touches - like the lintels over the gates - were beautiful. I'm pleased every time I look out the back window, and every time I open the very sturdy and easy to open gates! It's not high wind season yet -- but I'm not worried. This fence seems like it will hold up just fine! Northwest Fence was not the cheapest bid we got -- but they had the best reviews, and now I see why. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Response from Northwest Fence Inc
"Thank You Customer, Working for great customers is a pleasure. Re-placing posts on existing fence is very challenging. Our crew has had a lot of experience with this, due to the winds we have here. We have also found that, gates last a lot longer with a header over the top. This adds a nice finished look to the gate. And we want your fence to last a long time."

They were really good. Any problems they fixed right away. They bent over backwards to make me happy.
