Very well. Easy to work with, responsive, good quality, and communicated well with me. I have lived in the home for a while now and there have been no major issues. A couple of minor issues were found but were dealt with immediately.

Great. BBB is easy to work with. I found them knowledgeable, patient and kind. They explained the project and what to expect during the process. They kept the jobsite neat and cleaned up the waste material nicely. They even made friends with my shy dog. I would work with them again and again. :)

Bellingham Bay Builders were fantastic to work with. Our house badly needed to be remodeled. The home was built in 1905 and had been a rental for a number of years. It had not been professionally updated since 1941. The changes made in 1941 were not in keeping with the house's Victorian roots. Because the house became a rental in the 1970s, anything that got "fixed" was short term. By the time we purchased the house 13 years ago it was badly in need of a little TLC. With Bellingham Bay Builders help, we were able to return the house to it's charming roots while updating it to make it a modern functional home. These guys are really attentive and will go above and beyond to give you what you want in a remodel. I was very picky about maintaining the character of the home and Jeff, Dylan and Dave never discouraged me from my goal. We used lots of architectural salvage (that I found) and the guys helped to make new materials that we used look vintage. Even though I am sure that this was more difficult than if we had used all new materials, Bellingham Bay was up to the challenge.
Bellingham Bay is also up on the latest in energy efficiency (Dave is LEED) certified. They are very concerned and knowledgeable about this and made lots of suggestions to make our house more energy efficient and improve the air quality. I cannot believe how comfortable our 100 year old house is now, compared to how it was before the remodel. And our energy bills are much reduced as well. I have allergies and appreciate that our air quality is now top notch.
This was not an easy remodel and there were lots of moments that could have been quite stressful. Bellingham Bay was great about presenting options and following through as we encountered unforeseen problems along the way.
Our house was on a recent home tour and two comments come to mind while I am writing this. One was from an interior decorator from Seattle who said that the remodel was "the best historical renovation that she had seen in Bellingham". The other was a lady in our neighborhood who said she almost hated to look at older homes that had been remodeled because they always looked like modern homes and lost their character. I was very pleased to hear her say that ours was the first old house remodel that she had seen where the house retained its character.
I walk around my house every day now and am in awe of how wonderful it turned out. Bellingham Bay Builders played a huge part in making this happen.

We could not be happier with our newly remodeled house. We had a project manager, Dave, who was responsible for administrative details, and an on-site superintendent, Dylan, who oversaw the day-to-day construction. We held weekly site meetings attended by Dave and Dylan, my husband and me, and our designer, to make sure everyone was on the same page. We were on site frequently during the project and never felt we were in the way. Our questions were always answered, and on the rare occasions that we found a problem, the problem was promptly addressed and fixed. BBB is a cooperative, where all members share in the profits. It was not unusual for another member of the cooperative to come by and help out on our project when Dave and Dylan needed an extra hand. For example, it rained one night after the old roof had been removed and the area was covered with tarps. One of the members of the cooperative came to the site in the middle of the night to check on the situation and do any necessary bailing. This "going the extra mile" is typical of BBB. Dave and Dylan are professionals who justifiably take great pride in their work. Dylan's carpentry skills are very impressive. BBB hire subs who live up to their high standards. We were very impressed with all those who worked on our house. In addition, we became very fond of Dave, Dylan, and members of the crew. We're sorry the project had to come to an end!.
