The office is very impressive with a spacious waiting area and what seemed to be a wide assortment of glasses. I chose to see Dr Ekman who I found to be very professional, personable, patient and knowledgeable. I liked his pleasant demeanor and sense of humor. My appointment was on time and the eye exam seemed thorough. All my questions and concerns were answered without me feeling rushed. I have rated the staff friendliness as a 'B' as I felt the staff could have been a little more welcoming. I would also recommend that the front desk staff inform you upfront about the process of having your eyes dilated which I had not had done before. I decided to come back the following week when my husband could pick me up, to get my eyes dilated as I did not feel comfortable driving home with very sensitive eyes. A second visit could have been avoided if I knew what to expect when making the initial appointment. Overall it was a good experience though and I would be happy to recommend this vision clinic and Dr Ekman to others.

I have been using them for 8 years, since 2008. His bedside manner is terrible, but he is an excellent physician. He has done cataract both surgeries for my husband and I am about to have one. He does not have a great bedside manner, but I don't hold it against him; it is just his personality. He is friendly, but you probably would not want that face looking at you if you were dying. He is very professional at all times. He wears a bow ties and suspenders. The waiting room is absolutely pristine. We have never had to wait longer than about 10 minutes in the waiting room. In an emergency I suppose he would get you in quick, but we set up appointments before we leave. I would not think you could call him today and get in before next week.

They?ve been great; no problem at all. She was really good, very professional, capable and did a fine job. They are very courteous and they care of you right away. You can walk right in, you don?t need an appointment. The office is very lovely.

)All went well.  Procedures themselves seem to be done very professionally and with enough volume that there is really good familiarity.  I still have some issues with remaining tissue periodically blurring vision (they refer to them as floaters, but I see at as a translucent island that will periodically partially obscure about 20% of my vision in one eye.  Although I am overall satisfied, it is not without reservation:
* I asked that the solution not be done as binocular vision (different focal lengths in different eyes) as I had tried this with contacts and found it unsatisfactory.  They did it anyway.
* When they test your vision they take the baseline in fairly standard fashion.  Post op, they used drops, encouraged guessing and squinting... no way their effectiveness data can be believed.

I saw Dr. Kitamura and had an amazing appointment. I felt valued from the time I entered the office. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I bought a new pair of glasses there too.

Things went fine, I made an appointment and went in to see the doctor.  I was very pleased with the vision staff, they were helpful patient and near as I could tell very thorough.  The office staff was a bit curt and after the appointment I was shuffled off to be sold glasses/etc.  I'm sure this is a common practice in making sales, but I just wish it was more subtle is all.

I felt like it was big business.  Everything was about the sale.  They charge for coffee, they try to sell you $ 75.00 vitamins , quickly pulling out a chart why theirs are better. When we received the glasses, my husband had one eye that was blurry and really bothered him.  They told him  to live with it for a while when it really was upsetting right  away.  My sons glasses fell apart the 2nd day we got home.  We went to the local drug store and got screws.  My glasses are not right the bifocal reading part  Since this provider had star from Angie's List I took the whole family there when I should have tried just one of us.  We since have gotten a referral from a friend and it looks like that is going to work

I think if I'd needed surgery, I couldn't have been in better hands. I don't need surgery. I need someone willing to do the legwork of trying to tie my issues to vitamin or hormonal issues or such. That's not what Dr. Gilbert does. I will return for my annual exams, though, because I love the digital way they examine the cornea and the resulting historical records rather than dilating your eyes and just looking at them.

It went well overall. Note that we didn't have any eye disease and went only for a checkup. That being said we would recommend Dr. Gilbert to our friends and surely visit him again in the future.

Everybody that works there is very friendly. It is a small place. It is right down town so it is convenient. They are very professional and thorough. If you do need glasses, they have a pretty good selection of frames and they have two or three people that work there to help you with the setting and so on. They are really good.

All my appointments seemed short (less than 15 minutes) however she was a good precise communicator and I felt well taken care of. I would go to her again because of her attention to detail along with her professional thoughtful information.
I had not worn contact lenses for several years and was not comfortable putting them in along with having difficulty taking them out. The staff was supportive and kind to me at all times.

The entire process moved very smoothly with good descriptions of what what happening and why. Also, due to dryness and pain in my eyes, Dr. Gilbert suggested high potency fish oil and prescription drops. After just a few days I can already "see" results.

They are efficient. They are very business-like. It is close to my office. The doctors are good and know what they are doing. Their prices seem to be higher.
