NorthWest Auto Center

About us

We have been open since January of 2002. We are a full service facility for general auto repair and maintenance. Shop has dealer level diagnostic equipment for VW, Audi, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Acura, Toyota, and Lexus. All employees are involved in training programs to stay current in their area of expertise. All "on vehicle" employees are ASE certified. We have 5 employees, three shop and two in the office. Two are state certified for emissions work, and are ASE master certified, the other is well on his way to master certification. We charge for diagnostic work because it takes the most amount of knowledge, the most expensive equipment, and the most amount of time invested to gain these.

I've already filled out a detailed review on the website. Brought my truck (2006 Ford F-150) in because CEL (Check Engine Light) was on because it hesitated and surged upon acceleration to freeway speed. They diagnosed it as needing an injectior flush. They performed work and I paid for it. Problem persists. Took it back. Now it needs new Pressure Relief Valve. Work performed. Paid hundreds more. Problem still persists. Took to dealer and had to spend about $1000 to replace plugs and 5 faulty coils. Correct work was expensive but would have been cheaper if I went to dealer the first time. Also took in our '06 CR-V. Again CEL was on. Diagnosis was performed and found bad Ignition Knock Sensor. Spent $500 to replace. A month later had same problem. Now diagnosed as Engine Control Module (Computer Assembly) Complained to Alex about all the above issues I've had with mis diagnosing and spending humdreds extra. We agreed he'd install the Engile Control Module for free. Work performed and I will never go back and will not recommend them. $1100 spent on both vehicles and still didn't fix problems

Northwest Auto Center is the kind of mechanic you can trust completely. The type where after the dealer’s service center has told you four things HAVE to be repaired, Alex and the crew will tell you that one needs to be done, one should be watched, and the other two are fine.

(May 12th): Brought it in again with the same problems. Now Alex discovered ignition problems. I was charged for the diagnostics and labor. Unfortunately, after spending hundreds of dollars, they didn't fix the problem. I ended up going to the dealership to get the problem fixed. The dealership replaced the faulty coils, which was expensive, but it was fixed the first time and the engine performed perfectly. (Jan. 5 2017): Brought in my wife's car because the "Check Engine" light was on. Was told the Knock Sensor needs to be replaced (had other routine services done). Turns out it wasn't the1,150 Knock Sensor, but paid hundreds extra for parts and labor on top of the routine service. Now they have to order and replace the ECM Computer Assembly, Which will be hundreds more dollars to repair. I finally saw a pattern of over paying for work that was mis diagnosed and then re diagnosed to try to fix the problem. I spoke to Alex and told him I'm spending hundreds of dollars more than I should because you're not fixing the problem the first or second time. He said he'll install the computer free of charge. So that's where we're at. I'll make an appointment and see what happens.

Reminder card received. Appointment made, service promptly preformed, checked other items and discovered the cabin filter was clogged and needed changing.
We are always happy with N.W. Auto services and recommend them to others.

Jeff, Alex, and Juan were knowledgeable and were very good about explaining each issues and its implications to me. I value their opinions and have great trust in their guidance.
