Roofing
His roof repairs were not completely effective (we still have leaks), and despite multiple promises to provide pictures and a written statement confirming the negligence of the prior roofer -- so that we could pursue a warranty claim against the prior roofer -- Charles never provided anything.
WORSE, he cheated us out of $1200: shortly after cleaning our roof and while completing (we thought) the roof repairs, he begged us to pre-pay $1200 for purchase of oil preservative to spray on our cedar shake roof later in the Spring (supposedly his dealer was going out of business and Charles wanted to stock up on preservative at the lower price). Despite dozens of voice mails left with his cellphone over the last 6 months and other attempts to reach him since January of 2013 to schedule the oil spraying, he never answers and refuses to return our calls.
We had received glowing reviews from friends on Mercer Island who had used and recommended him, but whatever he may once have been, based on our experience he is no longer trustworthy. BUYER BEWARE.

We have used Mr. Charles for at least 20 years for maintenance of our shake roof and were very pleased before the 2011 cleaning. We were especially pleased with the roof treatment he used on the shakes in the past.
The main worker was usually very good. However, the other workers were not as thorough as they used to be prior to 2011.
