About us

Hecht Construction has been a sole proprietorship remodeling company owned and operated by Heinz Hecht since 1987. We specialize in remodeling bathrooms, kitchens and decks, but can do just about any remodeling around your home. Our aim is to help you maintain the value of your home and tailor it to your specific wants and needs. Larger jobs will be charged on a project basis, while smaller jobs will be charged at an hourly rate.

Services we offer

We mainly provide kitchen and bathroom remodeling. We will plan and lead the remodeling from the consultation all the way to fine finish work. We work with plumbers and electricians. We do minor dry wall work and interior framing, we paint, we install all forms of cabinetry, do all tiling and some pre-finished wood flooring. We also do entertainment centers, doors and other miscellaneous wood trimming work. We preform exterior work from touch ups to building complete decks.

Services we don't offer

We don't do vinyl or carpet flooring. We also do not do whole house repainting, roofing, or complete window installations.

We have used Hecht Construction for multiple projects, but one that stands out in my mind is the remodel of my home office/studio. I was going through radiation treatment for breast cancer at the time, and remodeling my favorite space in the house was a great distraction. However, I underestimated how tired I would be, despite the delight at having new windows and floor installed, etc. Hecht Construction came in to do the job, finished on time and on budget with minimal hassle. I LOVE my new space and it was great having them here to work on it, laugh with me, council me on materials to choose, etc. What could have been an exhausting project turned out to be a delight at a time when I needed some delightful things around me.
Description of Work: Heinz Hecht of Hecht Construction has done multiple projects for our home, including rebuilding a large, two-story deck, remodeling our bathroom, and remodeling my home office. For each of these projects he has come in on-budget and on time. In addition to his extensive knowledge (he has a degree in architecture), Heinz is also one of those guys that's a pleasure to have in your home. He's respectful, polite and leaves an immaculate worksite each day. We have been using Hecht Construction for years and I should have written a review about his great work ages ago.
