This was the worst installation I have ever seen in my 38 year career of listing and selling over 1000 homes and of course it was my own personal residence. The installer puled the 9 year old vinyl as I wanted a newer pattern, and when installed it had several cottage cheese like bumps. The had him pull it and redo it and they were still there. He said it was a problem with the type of vinyl. The salesperson was great, came, saw the problem, and said they would take care of it. Then comes the manager Dave. He said I don’t see anything. These floors look fine. If you want to pay $5000 more we will level them and redo it. Now this is after 2 of my builder accounts looked at the floor as well as others I entertained as it was a month later that he actually came out to “ site inspect”. I wish I could load photos of what is apparently “ok” at Great Floors in Bellevue according to the manager Dave. Terrible work and they don’t stand behind their jobs. Of course you pay 100% “ up front”!

Don't think it could go worse. Tile had had to be redone around sink and patched on floor. They sent installer with wrong grout type and color so the floor grout literally crumbles as you wash it. Long story short I left message for corporate??? Got hung up on by Jim, manager at Bellevue, on conference call I just want a floor that is level and has grout that doesn't crumble after 6 months.

The purchasing part was good. They had good selection and gave us enough time to choose and try different tiles. Once we picked what we wanted the nightmare began. We asked them for an installation quote and were promised a callback in 2 days. After a week I called the salesman (Ben) again and he apparently forgot about the installation quote. He promised to get back to me in 2 days. He didn't. When I called him again he apologized again and told us someone will need to come to measure the rooms even though we gave the salesman detailed plans for the bathrooms 2 weeks earlier and had been told at that time they were sufficient for the quote. So after a contractor came to measure the bathrooms, we didn't get any call back with a quote. So after I called them back they promised to send an email with the quote in 2 days. This time they actually sent the quote. BTW: they charged my credit card I used to purchase the tiles also for the contractor work without telling me. In this particular case it didn't matter but this was rude and unexpected. I called them back that we like the quote and would like to schedule an appointment. The salesman again didn't call us as he promised and when I called him he apparently forgot again. At this time I decided to quit doing business with Great Floors and decided to pick the tiles and hire someone else to install them. When I arrived to pick the tiles they forgot to include one box. I realized that one box of tiles is missing at home after I counted all tiles in all boxes so I had to come back and pick the missing box again. Fortunately they were able to find it and gave the missing box to me. I'll never even think to deal with Great Floors again.

This is the MOST HORRIBLE RENOVATION I have ever had. After waiting 6 weeks for flooring, the installation was sloppy. We have huge gaps between the cabinets and the floors. These are NOT expansion gaps. See pics. Great Floors response is that we have crooked walls and cabinets. Really. What house doesn't. The floor is supposed to fit the house. Then we noticed popping noised when walking on the floors. Great Floors response. You turned on the furnace. Now you can't turn on the furnace. Jim the district manger also kept referring to an agreement I signed. It talks about cracking not noise. They talk to me like I am a fool. And they probably think we are for hiring a company with an F rating on the BBB and a search on the King County Superior court website has Great Floors with over 60+ lawsuits where there are either the defendant or the plaintiff.

This is the second time I have used them. I'd specifically like to mention Gordon who I have used twice now. He made the best cost-effective suggestions for a challenging floor plan and I would highly recommend him.

We ordered the items and they came in approximately when expected. Set up installation date with a 4 day estimated completion time. Crew arrived on time and worked 9-11 hours each day. Installer advised we needed $5200 worth of sub flooring after the original estimate had been done. He cut the carpet to show me so it's not like we could say no at that point. I contacted estimator and asked why this was never mentioned before job started. No definitive answer but price on subfloor was cut to approx. $2500.
The job took more than twice as long as expected. The quality of the installation was VERY good. The biggest problem is that we have been waiting weeks to have the transition moldings installed to finish the job. They received incorrect amount of moldings the first order, there was a lack of communication between sales and installation departments with 1 saying 1 thing and the other having a different story. This has been going on for weeks now. Apparently the moldings are in now but the installer is on another job in Kent and sales department has not been able to co-ordinate a time when he can finish the job. Moldings came in Thursday
it's Saturday today and no word ?
We were offered the choice of doing the job piece meal or waiting until all items were in stock. We chose the latter.
The job will eventually get done and I am sure to our satisfaction but very frustrating that they can not get their act together.

Finally the job has been completed Oct 16/2014. Looks great but not worth the stress.

The staff at Great Floors helped us find excellent carpet and padding based on our needs and criteria. We were allowed to borrow large carpet samples to take home. They arranged for the carpet measure to be done two days after we first came into their showroom. This gentleman was very courteous and professional, and he gave some helpful advice as he took the room measurements. The cost estimate came 4 days later. We decided to go with Great Floors and two weeks later, we had the carpet installed. The installation was done over 1-and frac12; days, with the two men working about 12 hours total. Both days, they arrived on time, when expected, and went straight to work.
They took care of moving our larger and heavier furniture around to get the install done. There was one and quot;casualtyand quot; in the furniture movement - a shelf facade on one bookcase was broken off - and the worker apologized sincerely and said we should withhold some money from our final payment to make up for the accident, but we decided the damage was very minimal and we still paid what we owed to close out the bill. We were a little worried about how they would move sensitive pieces of furniture, specifically our 50-year-old piano and our Sleep Number bed, but all of our furniture was handled with care. We were also concerned about our wood floors getting scratched up as the installers moved around the 1st floor, but again, our worries were unnecessary.
The installers did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves, including running a vacuum over all of the carpet (and there was A LOT of carpet) to make sure any loose staples, dust, and other debris were picked up. Although we did find a few more staples after they left, there weren't enough to warrant to complaint. Since they stored our rolls of carpet and padding in our garage for the duration of the install, they also did a very nice job of sweeping up any mess left in there. They took care of removing all of our old carpet and padding, and disposing of it, as this was included in our cost of service.
We did have the expectation of someone from Great Floors calling us to follow up on our project, ask if we were satisfied with the carpet and installation, and get general feedback about our experience with them. We were surprised that no one did. We would have given them positive feedback.
Overall, our experience was a very good one, 1) because our project was straightforward with no unforeseen issues, and 2) the installers worked professionally and efficiently.

It went horribly! All we wanted was the hardwood floors fixed and during the repairs they punched a hole in our drywall in the kitchen, a hole in the drywall in the newly remodeled powder room, put a stain on our family room rug, damaged our newly professionally painted front door in 2 spots and had a huge stain around our toilet in our powder room!! We told the sales person Mike Bean from Great floors that we were going to replace our toilet and he told us this was the best time to do it since we were getting our hardwood floors redone. We ended up being a huge big dark ring around the toilet. James Schultz Hardwood Flooring told us about the stain on the floors after the work was completed. You would think if they were professional they would let us know before so we would have the option of paying extra to get a few boards replaced. They also told us about the damage to the front door but never told us about the 2 holes in the walls and the stain on they rug. They had the stain covered by painters tape that they never removed in their clean up. Did they think we wouldn't find the holes? The whole thing was an absolute nightmare!! It caused a lot of wasted time and undue stress.
If we can do anyone a favor do not go through Great Floors or James Schultz Hardwood Flooring! The salesperson at Great Floor did a great sales job letting us know how experienced and professional they were. Wrong! We took the bait. If your insurance person recommends them please get other estimates and go through Angie's list. We should have signed up and asked for recommendations ahead of time. We learned a very hard lesson!

Debra at Great Floors was very helpful and professional in recommending the right carpet level for my space and she gave me a good price on the carpets. She responded fairly quickly and gave me a quote on both the carpets and installation in a timing manner.
The installation workers came to my condo and finished installing the carpets on the same day. They explained to me that it would be better off for me to use padding instead of glueing and they were able to re-use some of the existing padding to save me cost. They quickly ordered new padding needed and still finished on time. The company credited me back the amount that I saved with padding. Great experience and definitely will hire them again.

Our general contractor installed the vinyl flooring, so we only purchased the item and manufacturers recommended adhesive through Great Floors. Our service rep was Susan Veno - great job and service. We did get a double charge for the adhesive, which was purchased separately, but was immediately corrected when brought to their attention.

I wanted wool carpeting, which few stores even carry, but they had a large selection and I was able to find the berber I wanted in the shade I needed. The installation was done well but the time estimate was off. It tokk the crew several more hours to do the install than was estimated, and they were here till 8 in the evening. Still, they did a good job.The person Great Floors sent out to do the tile installation was amazingily careful and meticulous. It was impressive. The tiling goes from the powder room into the laundry room. Looks great, really added value to our home.Bill Scott, the salesman that was in charge of both, was wonderful. He took lots of time with me to find exactly what I wanted. He cooordinated the installations well and was good in the communications. He understand my type of customer, who wants to purchase only exactly what we conceive is right. He got me lots of samples and never made me feel I was wasting his time, always made me feel like a valued customer. I would recommend doing business with Bill to any of my friends.

All three installations were done well. A problem was discovered with the subfloor during the bamboo installation so there was a delay to wait for leveling. The crew expedited the remaining work to reduce the inconvenience.

Well Bill the sales person was wonderful, I told him what I wanted and what my budget was. He was able to get me all my flooring and tile for under my budget. Previously I had gone to several showrooms and compared products to great floors and found they had a better product and better prices so I gave him the go ahead. The people that I had to deal with after the fact were another story, first the scheduling dept didn't translate how big the job was to the installer (one guy), so since I didn't meet up with him till 2 days before the job started they had to do a mad scramble to find more people to get the job done on time. So the job started out good and it looked like things were going good. (This job was suppose to be a 3 day job with the 4th dedicated to the final detail work) Installers did a decent job, but I am glad I was home for most of the install since I found out that they had gone through my garage and were using my stuff in the garage for their own use. Well now it is almost 11 days later and the job is still not complete, I finally called them up and they told me they thought the job was done, in fact the material to complete the job was picked up last week. So here I am with an upside down house that I can't put back together until they finish up. Great Floors Is a good company and if you want a good deal they are the ones to go to, but be flexible on the time to finish the job and lock up your tools!

This was a very pleasant experience with them. Their prices were very good and they were very professional. For the sheet goods they showed us some remnants that where were perfect. They didn't even have books on part of the tile we wanted but they called the vendor and ordered them for us anyway. Very competitive prices. We didn't need them to do the installation.

Our first trip to the showroom with our paint chips, cabinet wood and counter top sample didn't offer much help, but the second time around we got a good saleswoman, Melanie, who spent time with us and showed us samples and helped us choose wisely. When we were ready for the floor to be installed, we called and scheduled. The install crew showed up but hadn't been informed they would need filler and patching compound. So, they had to go to their supplier and got caught in a traffic jam and it took more than two hours for them to get back. They did a great job of installing with only one seam in a 23' x 23' room, and you can't even see the seam. I think they are independent installers and work for other companies, too. The foreman, Jose, was really skilled and did the majority of the work. The floor looks great - like real tile but not as expensive and noisy and easier to take care of.
